I am over 50, married, and have a pre-teen daughter. I love Disney, MLP, the Beatles "Yellow Submarine", and Harry Potter. I think Alan Rickman was the sexiest actor ever!

Ask a Maretician · 4:26pm July 26th

Probably wondering about the title. Well, not too long ago I was looking up stuff on the Internet and ran across a YouTube video series called "Ask a Mortician" by Caitlyn Doughty (imagine a cross between Twilight Sparkle and Wednesday Adams). The episode was about the Essex, a whaling ship from Nantucket that served as the inspiration for "Moby Dick". Unlike the book where only Ishmael survives, about seven crew members lived to tell the tale. She described in morbid but humorous detail

Holding Out · 10:39pm March 30th

Covid19, the viral bitch, has made it to Florence County with at least one confirmed case in our zip code. No one I know is sick at this time, thankfully. I went to church this past Sunday. Counting the priest, there were only about 10 people present. Kinda weird considering this is the Lenten season.

Coronavirus PITA · 9:44pm March 16th

Well, the pandemic virus known as coronavirus has made it to South Carolina and panic has ensued. Usually this kind rush on the stores is because of a hurricane or a winter storm that drops an inch of snow on the state. Of course, in preparing for a storm I could always count on finding hand sanitizer and toilet paper available.

Birds of Prey · 11:30pm February 9th

My husband and I went to see "Birds of Prey: the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn". In a sentence; I fucking loved it! I'm not really into comic book/super hero type movies but I've learned so much about Harley Quinn over the years that I felt I had to see this movie. It was great! And very empowering. I know they are just comic book characters and the stuff they do is beyond human endurance but it was still great to see.

Lousy Monday · 2:06am Aug 13th, 2019

Today is Monday and, like Garfield the cat says, if something bad happens it's probably Monday. Everything started out fine today. I did not have to work, so I slept late. I worked some on my Griffon Wedding story. I even went to get a flounder dinner box from my favorite restaurant. I was waiting in the drive-thru line at McDonald's (I had to get Pinkie a Happy Meal) when my scalp started itching.

MLP Season 9: What I would like to see. · 1:28pm Aug 2nd, 2019

I've been watching some of the new episodes on You Tube (don't worry, no spoilers) and I'm pretty impressed with it. I will say a lot of background characters will be making a reappearance. Since this is the last season of MLP, there are some things I would like to see.

1. Discord asking Fluttershy to be his Special Somepony.
2. Big Mac and Mud Brier asking their respective girlfriends for their hoof in marriage.

Peter Mayhew RIP · 9:43pm May 4th, 2019

There are people of a certain age (like me and my two younger siblings) who remember going to see "Star Wars" for the first time. My Dad was against us seeing it at first because it had a PG rating, but when our neighbors told him there was no vulgarity or sex in it, he took us to see it. We loved it. Before long, every kid in the neighborhood was playing "Star Wars". We didn't need fancy costumes, though some had masks. The big boy across the street from us, tied a towel around his neck
