BRING ON THE POPCORN!!! · 4:18pm Oct 8th, 2017

Because yesterday I saw the MLP Movie with my girlfriend, her sister, her sister's fiancee, and their friend. And I must say, personally, that the movie lived up to the hype (YAY)

I will definitely do my best to avoid any spoilers, but I just need to write something.

So, first things first, this movie was very true to the show. All the characters were perfectly in character with what we all know and love, no matter the situation. Even when Twilight does something rather stupid, it felt like something she would do given the stress she was under at the time. And the others all react in the way you would expect to said stupid event. It all just fits so nicely.

Next, the animation. While different, i think it personally made the experience better. Especially with Pinkie. All her crazy shenanigans and goofing off seems somehow more lively, and I definitely feel that the animation was a major plus on the big screen.

And of course, the villains. I liked the main villains for this movie, especially Tempest. She felt like a real threat that was always looming over the mane 7, and whenever she came around, I was nervouscited to see what she would do next.

While I do think Fluttershy could have had a bigger role at some parts, she still felt in character the whole time and I will say she was hilarious during the final battle of the movie. Seriously, just... I have no words for how funny I found her at that battle.

One last thing to say. While i do know that many people might be waiting for the DVD or netflix release, I would actually suggest still giving it the time to go see it in theaters. Not only does it look awesome, but I feel that seeing it on the big screen will always surpass the DVD releases, especially in this case. Also, the theater I went to gave us these really cool "MY FIRST MOVIE CERTIFICATE"s as a neat memento. So if you're unsure, just go see it for that.

But other than that, I loved the movie and I REALLY hope they make another (They already have an equestria girls movie series, so heres hoping they do the same for this one)

I haven't seen it, but of what I've heard, people of the fandom are liking it. Everyone else? Not so much...it also doesn't help that a lot of places are panning it and its not getting many showtimes. I'm not kidding. I hope it does well though.

I think people outside the fandom just don't want to give it a chance as much. If this were just another Disney or Pixar movie, it would be fine perfectly fine and accepted right now. Though based on the reaction of the younger members in the audience at the theater, they all seemed to love it, which will probably sell toys, which hopefully means that Hasbro will continue to make more of them. Also, it's only been three days. Hard to make a true judgement so early any how.

I think it will do fine though

Darn. I'd still say see it in theaters, but the choice is up to you. Overall though, what did you think?

Too bad, but at least you get to see it before the DVD release
