Monthly update and sneak peak: Writing, potentially seeking additional Editor, and Streaming

Hello everypony,

Honestly it feels like January just started, but the calendar completely disagrees that assessment, so it's time for an update on everything!

First, I've still been writing a lot. How to Climb a mountain was finally updated, and the next story will be the second chapter of How to Meet your Daughter (I may also commission a pic of Sunny's mom at some point soon, still debating that at the moment). I also still have the two new stories I wrote in november (How to be in a Movie and How to make amends) that I hope will be able to be published sometime over the next few months.

Which brings me to point two: While I love my editor/fiancee to pieces and think that she does fantastic work, I do realize that I do give her quite a lot to do, especially with one of my current jobs being an overnight position which lets me work on stories and my other job while I am there. As such, I am considering opening a request for a second editor. This would be someone who could go over the first and possibly second drafts of some of my stories to look for spelling, grammar, and parts of the story that might not make sense at first (and also silly mistakes like using shuttered rather than shuddered). My fiancee/editor would always look over the last drafts as we talk about my stories quite a bit on our own time, but having someone who can help take some of the pressure off would hopefully allow her to focus on the bigger comments and hopefully speed up how quickly I can post chapters. This is still an idea in the works, but if you are interested, do feel free to let me know.

And finally, STREAMING! As mentioned a few blogs back, I have been putting serious thought into potentially streaming in the future as a fun way to bond with my audience and to give all of you a chance to talk to me in real time as I enjoy some activities that I love. I have a mic, I have a capture card, and I am working out how to work via Streamlabs, and so my goal is to hopefully be able to stream by the time valentine's day rolls around.

Why Valentine's day? Well, as anyone who has played the game Undertale knows, I tend to make a few references to it in my stories (heck, Swifty Strike is probably the closest to a pony version of Undyne that I have ever written). This is because both my fiancee and I love Undertale and Delta Rune, and, as luck would have it, the game actually came out a few months after we first started dating. As such, it holds a special place in our heart, both for the timing and because it was one of the first games we ever played through fully together (Skyward Sword was basically me just being there to provide emotional support and sassy commentary during the silent realm missions). So my hope is that we will be able to play Undertale together on Valentine's day, and that we will be able to share that experience with you.

Also, and I literally just found out about this a few days ago, but apparently there is actually an entire field of streaming that revolves around Writing rather than just video games. Now I don't know how exactly THAT would work given how focused I can become on a story, but imagine being able to watch me write my latest chapters, or for us to have a stream where we all do some practice writing alongside one another, all while I answer your burning questions about my stories or how I come up with my ideas. Maybe even just a question and answer stream for everyone. I feel that there is a lot of possibilities, and at the very least, I think it will be fun regardless.

“Well…” Twilight asked nervously, not making eye contact with Flash. “How do I look?”
Flash blinked, his mouth working as a blush crept over his face before finally speaking. “You’re so beautiful…you made me forget my lines…” He said, causing Twilight’s eyes to go wide, before she burst out giggling. Flash was no better, and soon any semblance of plot was lost.
“CUT! Really Flash? I know make-up did a good job, but that’s the entire reason why we had you see her in the dress before we started filming!”
“Wait, what? But Rarity said that was canceled due to a scheduling conflict!” Flash protested, pointing a hoof at the fashionista that was currently trying to sneak under a table.
The director facehoofed. “Rarity…”
“I couldn’t help it!” She protested. “It was the perfect dress! And what better way to capture his true reaction than to have it be a surprise for him for real! And now that you have that, I’m sure the editor can find a way to work it in!”
“I don’t know anything about video editing!” The editor protested.
“The video editor, dear, not the writing editor,” Rarity clarified.
“Ahhh, ok!” The editor exclaimed with an understanding nod. The director just double-facehoofed.
