Hey everyone. A friend of mine who recently read the first chapter of my latest story, asked me what the ages of all my characters are. So here it is.

I'd figured that Spike would be older than the CMC by at least a few months and Fluttershy be two years older than R.D. Fluttershy would be 21or RD be 18. With Shining being a couple years older than Cadance, like 27. You know to justify his parens hiring Cadance to foulsit Twilight. But I do agree with the rest of the ages.
On a funny note I could help but notice you didn't write in Celestia's or Luna's age.
Dang! If the character ages in canon are anything similar like the ages you're using for your story, then that means the pony I relate to the most would be WAY younger than I am. Way to make a girl feel old.

Nice age selections, they actually work for the characters. Will a year pass with each season or not? I personally believe a year or so passes for each season.

4680068 is right... with the exception of EQG, that's more of what I call a dependent Alternite Universe, as what happens in the series proper affects it and yet the reverse has yet to be proven true. In fact it feels like the show has gone out of its way to say that these are not the same universe. But yeah, season 1, 2 and 3 are alll in the same year, we can cite Celestia' s dialog in the Srasonn 4 opener about looking forward to celebrating the Summer Sun Celebration, Rainbow say ' Our First Winter Together' in Tanks for the Memories and in 'It's not the Mane thing about you' Pinkie Pie is celebrating the anniversary of the Cake Twins' first sneezes, meaning they ate a year old now.... so yeah the show is in it's Second-third year narratively speaking.

I can accept the first three seasons taking place in one year for this continuity but not the original. Not only did nobody say the words "exactly one year has passed" specifically, during the first three seasons we see the seasons change multiple times, for example it is Winter two separate times in seasons 1 and 2.

The episodes are not aired chronologically. Just contrast Apple Buck Season and The Ticket Master. Given the opening seen of the latter and the dialogue in the premise of the former, the former whould have to had accured first in the shows act time flow. And thats from the first half of Season 1,

That minor thing has been pointed out but its hardly proof for an "out of order" theory. More likely AJ was just accepting help from a new friend to win a bet against her brother.

And tgat is proof, why would AJ beincline to accept help there when it's shown "later" that she refuses help until she so sleep derveved that she failed ti see she only got half the apple bucking done. AJ's pride wouldn't let accept help for a wager and lets nit forget the aubesnce of the Apple Clan, it would be hard ti not notice so few Apples no matter how big Sweet Apple Acres is. This isn't Pinkie Pie reaching into her mane and pulling out a a party cannon.

Like I said, it was a bet, she's prideful but also competitive. Also, the "first Winter" thing is weird so I just assumed she left Tank at Fluttershy's the previous years she had him.

You know what? Never mind. I don't think I want to know.

Rainbow got him a propeller at the end of the episode, and why would she leave him with Fluttershy, it kind of defeats the purpose of the premise of the episode, Rainbow getting a pet, to begin with.
As for the scene in ticket master, all the more reason why AJ wouldn't have anypony help her, unless she was given a mighty big serving of humble pie, and could be grounds for Big Mac to call Applejack a cheater, and it's not until Apple Buck Season that the absence of the rest of the Apple Clan is mentioned, Sweet Apple Acres ain't that big for almost 30 ponies to be accounted for. Also in season 2, Sweet and Elite, the upcoming Gala is mentioned, but the only Galas we have seen on the show were 'The Best Night Ever' the season 1 finale and 'Make New Friends But Keep Discord' in season 5 with no evidence of a Gala between them.

Seriously dude, you are welcome to believe what you want but this isn't going to convince me.
Rainbow would need to leave Tank at Fluttershy's if she were busy for some reason, like needing to go to Canterlot for a play. Also, Sweet and Elite takes place after The Best Night Ever because you can see the damage to the pillars Rainbow caused. Unless they specifically say that only one year has passed I won't be convinced.
Wait a minute, didn't Lightning and Solid grow up together? Why are they five years apart?

I know. But if that's the case, it would make more sense if Lightning was...I don't know, at least 2 years younger. I know Solid has to be Twilight's age due to the other flashback with him and Twilight and Grand and Flash...but why is Lightning almost a generational difference from Solid?
Shouldn't the older knights that aren't the mentors be at least in their early to mid 30's. Them being so close to Flash in age... well doesn't give them the weight of their rank.
