Stargate SG1 and Atlantis callback. · 6:08am Sep 19th, 2017

So, I forgot how much I use to love this series. Rodney was amazing when he wasn’t being a complete jerk. That’s not saying much, but it’s always funny to see him interact with others. Here’s Cornell Mitchel threatening him with a lemon.

Ahhhh Atlantis. A show that managed to recapture all the magic of SG-1 and yet still be its own unique fresh thing. God I loved that show. Such great writing. Just when you think they can't one-up the last insanely awesome thing they did, they do :twistnerd:

As in what next terrible disaster can happen next? I agree. The best part of the show was the characters for me. Their interactions, the arguing, the comedy was amazing. Too bad Universe didn’t catch the same charm as SG1 and Atlantis.

The best thing about the characters is that they're so human. Jack o' Neill, Mitchell, Shepard; they're just guys. So many of the "sci-fi" problems that they solve are just the kind of problems that humans would have with integrating advanced technology, and they approach it with a realism that I've never seen any other show attempt. That's something that Stargate: Shangri-La really gets, and I love it.

As for Universe, I watched a couple of episodes and I can't remember what I didn't like about it, but it just didn't do anything for me.

I have not read that, but now I’m going too because of what you said. I wasn’t too sure about that story at first but it must be doing something right. Yeah, the human aspect is what I really like about the show. Like the alien museum episode where Mitch, tea’lc, Vala, and Daniel get caught and are thought to be terrorists. I remember Vala trying to hook up naquadah generator to the stargate and said there was a 50 percent chance the gate would blow up and a 70 percent chance it would activate. Then she explained to Mitch, that there was a crossover 20 percent where they’d blowup and activate the gate. best SG1 moment for me since Oneill went invisible.
