I'm not Greek either. I converted to Orthodoxy back in 1989. And, no, we are not Jewish. We get asked that a lot. You would think the crosses and pictures of Jesus would be a dead give away.

We have some Romanians and Russians who attend our church. We all say the Lord's Prayer in our own language. I used to be a Methodist, but I like being in the Orthodox better. My husband went to a Baptist church for a while when he was younger. The preacher scared him talking about hell and damnation. Now he's an atheist.

We try to be inclusive. When I first joined, we only said the prayer in Greek and English. There were a lot more older Greeks in the church back then too. Now, most of them have passed away or retired to Greece, so us young people are running stuff. We have Romanians, Russians, Arabs, Egyptians, and, at one time, a family from India! Not too bad considering we do not live in large city.
I don't know how old that preacher was, but I have seen some Baptist ministers. Most of them are on the fat side and talk very loud.

Yeah most of them are. And they don't really include others very well. For instance, there was this Muslim who wanted to think about Christianity. He came to our church to check it out, and the preacher asked him to leave because he was making others feel 'uncomfortable'. Not acceptable.

Then again my Sweet Sixteen was weird, my parents rented out the huge community center and had me invite like everyone, i knew nobody and they all ingored me. I would've prefered just a movie, a few friends and some cake.
