Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

Your Thoughts on the Shimmerverse · 1:41pm Sep 12th, 2017

As you know, I tend to make blogs now and again asking for your guys and gals opinions of the Shimmerverse. I like getting the feedback and find out what you like and what I can do to make it more enjoyable for you all. So I ask what you think of it overall, favorite story, blogs, etc. The usual.

I should also note that I have hit a stride with To Fear a Predator. It shouldn't be too long before I finally finish it. After that, I'll focus a little more on my other stories. The next Shimmerverse story shouldn't take too long to come out and should be a short and easy one for me to complete. After the length of time To Fear a Predator took, I really do need some easy stories to chew on.

So give your thoughts and hopes and whatnot. I can't wait to read them.

My favorite overall is the first story(can't beat the original) as it gave us the lore and backstory that got people invested in this.

Second would be Shimmer in the Dark as its focus on characters and character development, plus crossing over with The Bridge is a welcome and sets the precedent for other crossovers while establishing the Shimmerverse as part of the multiverse.

In terms of lore, this universe is big incorporates a lot of mythos from IRL and whatnot.

My one petty grip is the treatment of Luna and her followers, and the stereotype of how the Night is associated with evil and darkness, I know you cater this world towards Celestia and your not a big fan of Luna to begin with buts that's just me and my opinion. I don't know what future plans you have with her, redemption or otherwise, but since you have already established her evil on more darker level I feel she should stay that way for a while longer, if only to further explore her darker side. Maybe even escape her prison and cause more trouble, buts that's just a suggestion.

I like that you incorporate many sapient races into this world but lately I feel like your putting too many, with some being head scratchers.

Overall I like what you have going and not many complaints.

At the time of writing, I wasn't a big fan of Luna, but I didn't dislike her and I didn't make her so evil because I hated her. I liked her, it's just I felt that the dream arc had wasted possible character growth and she felt stale, where she had such a good episode in Luna Eclipsed (which is still one of my favorite episodes). As well, the comics do her justice as well. I have to say, mid-season five and on have done a great job with her in my opinion and I've come to like her more. I still prefer Celestia, but Luna is still a good character.

I will however keep my plans more or less a secret, but I assure you I think you'll come to like what I have planned. The season 1 finale will be the one that delves into that.

Oh? What makes you scratch your head? The amount or are there some you don't think work?

I thinks some may not work or feel forced

To elaborate I mean that some sapiants feel like they are filler, plus it would be difficult to use them all or even most, cause this site won't let you make a story without ponies in it and you have around 20 races to choose from here.

For example, I'm not sure who would want to make a story centered around the Snek race(not ruling it out but I don't know who would want to), I could see them as some sort of cameo but compared to the other races and countires you've put effort into explaining and building some may be more favorable than others to use.

Well aside from introducing other races, I do have to point out that many mythological worlds are populated by dozens and dozens of sapient or such creatures, many of which only get to play a part in one story, and most of those not even most of it.

I like a lot of what you've done recently with "To Fear a Predator." I also really liked the story about Quick Fix. You have a knack for violence that makes it just cartoony and whimsical enough that it doesn't make the story feel dark (like Trixie and her son waving guns wildly in everyone's face) while still instigating character reactions.

As I stated in a pervious blog,

like the stories of the flawed yet likable characters that make up this world's Bearers of the elements of Harmony. The world itself is also fascinating and creative. The writing is top notch and the comedy is great.

I like how take inspiration from Warhammer series, various mythologies, and G1 MLP to craft a unique world with its own history and am always fascinated to learn more. Yet the stories themselves are a mix of action, comedy and a dash of darkness yet never feels too grimdark. As for "To Fear a Predator," I'm still enjoying it.

Also here's 2 trailer for the MLP Movie,
