Masterverse: Dragon Kind

Of all the creatures and animals that share traits with their Pokémon counterparts, Dragons are the most enigmatic and greatest of their class. Having sub-species that fit all three categories of Phantasmal Beasts, dragons have much more diversity than any other mythical creature.

Morphology

Dragons are creatures that generate magic by simply breathing, their lungs acting as generators for magic. A dragon's elemental breath is actually comprised of mana and whatever elemental type they are born with. A dragons scale color indicates it breath type, for example: Red dragons have fire, Blue dragons produce lighting, Black dragons carry acid, and a unknown rare color can use soundwaves. The older the dragon, the more powerful it can get, a full grown dragon which upon reaching 1,000 years of age can level an entire country. Their scales are as durable and tough as shields, while their wings are strong enough to uproot trees with one flap. When it comes to interacting with their Pokémon counterparts, they will almost immediately fight each other, this is due to a long rivalry between to the two races that dates back tens of thousands of years, no one seems to know why or how it started, but it continued to persist until the present day where non-Pokémon dragons are nowhere to be seen. As of today, the only way to encounter a dragon is to summon one through highly advanced magic(although this is not a living one but akin to servants or heroic spirits), or travel to the Reverse Side of the World. All dragons have some degree of magical resistance embedded within their scales, which can only be penetrated by getting under the skin.

Dragon Breeds

A testament to their diversity is the many breeds dragons come in, while many would point out how Western/European dragons differ from Eastern/Asian dragons, this has no real basis as dragons of all breeds can live all around to world. It is simply some particular breeds that are known more than others in specific regions of the world.

.Dragonoid

The most common and well known breed are Dragonoid species, characterized by having all around stats in every category, these dragons are the "mascot" and basis for the entire dragon race. Often portrayed in medieval legends and myths as being the antagonist, these dragons are not evil by default, but if they are attacked first that will be a green light for them to go on a rampage. That is not to say they can be filled with malice or hate as evidenced by the evil dragon Fafnir.

.Wyvern

This sub-species of dragons are identified by their lack of frontal claws and small growth size, Wyverns will often join or form nests with bigger dragon breeds and followed them like a bee to a queen. While they may seem underwhelming, they can use their inner magic to increase their stats such are making their teeth and claws sharper, or deal or critical damage to their opponents.

.Basilisk

This species of dragon is unique for their ability to produce and mix deadly venom in their breaths to use at their prey. They are non-fliers, but they have much greater speed on land and water to compensate for this. Their scales are much harder than a normal dragon's and also use earthshattering head butts to fight their foes. They also favor use their tails to impale their opponents and breath their breath on them in a method similar to an execution.

.Japanese Dragons
Mostly native to the Tohoku, Chugoku and Shikoku Regions of Japan, Japanese Dragons are regarded as spirits of the wind and sky. Guardians of the land and seen as protector of the people, these dragons will become attached to a place or person if they are treated with kindness and respect. Aside from their elemental breath, they also have a cleansing breath that can heal someone or rejuvenate lands struck with famine. These dragons are closely connected to the sun and moon in that they can be born with solar attributes or lunar attributes, this makes them more powerful during the day or night.

.Chinese Dragons
This breed of dragon differs from their Japanese cousins in that they are worshiped as gods rather than spirits. They mostly keep to themselves and stay above the clouds where they are not seen, this has lead to some territorial conflicts with the Rayquaza legendary Pokémon. Another thing that sets them apart from Japan is while Japanese dragons have connections to the sun and moon, Chinese dragons can have connections to the heart and soul. They will appear in the presence of someone with a "Heart of Gold" or Soul of Silver".

.Kardas Dragon
Named after the Goliath Kardas who is the Goliath of Dragon Type Pokémon, this breed of Dragon is the largest and arguably the most powerful of the dragon species overall. They get their named due to rumors that they are the creations or offspring of the mighty titan. Dwarfing other dragons in size, their height according to myth was believed to be over a mile high, just shorter then their rumored progenitor. They have unique abilities which includes being able to absorb kinetic energy, acidic saliva, concussive blasts and eyes beams which can disintegrate a target or given area. Kardas Dragons are also the most intelligent of the dragon species, bordering on sapience.

Mixed Blood

While other Mixed Blood humans were made due to the machinations of Divine Spirits, dragon Mixed Blood humans were a manmade invention. Their are two ways to mix dragon blood into humans with both having different results. The first is through magical means which gives the human host certain traits, these can range from growing draconic appendages such as wings or a tail, or if they are a mage it will greatly enhance their magic resistance and upgrade their magic circuits. The second instance pertains to bathing or drinking dragon blood which gives humans the armor of a dragon or in the case of drinking allows them to transform into a dragon avatar.
