State of the Writer, April 2024!

    It's another boring one! I ain't wrote nothin'! :B

It actually feels lately like I've been crawling out of a pit? So maybe there's a light ahead? But it's also blocked by Balatro lol somepony save me D:

The only other thing relevant to this blog is that I've had notes for a vs. post sitting in my notes document for probably the entire month now, what is wrong with me? D:

Fic recs, April 22nd: Jordan179 edition

Once again, though a good bit late, I bring it upon myself to memorialize an author via reviews of their stories. Though this time, it's different, as I had no connection to Jordan179 and only learned of his passing (three years ago this month, coincidentally), from this post

Another post about video games and Youtube and stuff

If I'm going to waste time watching shit on Youtube, the least I can do is tell people about it. :P

Ceave is a crazy Austrian with a love of video games and a head for philosophizing about them. Plus he really, really hates coins, no matter how tasty they may look.

Do you like video games? How about philosophy?

I like one of those things for sure, but no one combines the two better than a Youtuber named InfernalRamblings, a former professional game developer who now creates hour and a half long video essays about the meanings of video games and how they relate to the world today. Here's a few highlights, since this is now basically my only

Present Perfect vs. The Art of Friendship · 2:07pm Aug 13th, 2017

Yeah, it's another one of those EQG summer shorts. They kind of aren't worth blogging about singly, but I figure I can just throw the reviews out anywhere. In this case, alongside the thing I'm currently binge-listening to today:

Oh, you wanted to know about the short? It's okay. It's 3 minutes of Pinkie acting weird. I mean, not even "Pinkie being Pinkie", just kind of acting dumb because that'll make kids laugh, I guess? (Except this isn't aimed at little kids…) Also, SunPie now? I dunno, I could buy it. This one's honestly as inoffensive as it is substanceless, which puts it right in the middle of all the shorts.

Now listen to Winnie the Pooh singing and try not to cry.

Pogo's always good. Worst I can say about his tracks are that they either need to be shorter or more varied, but what's there is still gold

No comment on the shorts because I haven't seen them and don't really plan to. I'm done with EQG

Skipping the shorts is not a bad move. :B

I dunno... sometimes you need to experience the truly bad in order to truly appreciate the good. Not to lower expectations, per se, but to just... get proper perspective on what constitutes "good" versus "ok" versus "bad" versus "kill it with fire."

Isn't that one of the primary functions of fan fic?

That. Song. Is. Amazing. I've had it on repeat since I saw it in the feed. XD

I think the Robin Hood one he did last time is overall better, but this is still the kind of song I can listen to 20 times in a row, no problem. :)

I'll have to give that one a listen to then~! I saw it when I was looking at their channel but I didn't even think about listening to it.
