Real Life Came After Me Today · 1:58am Jul 27th, 2017
Got slapped in the face by real life today. I've been feeling some intense pains on my left side for a few days and last night it got really bad.
Went to work, walked around for a while, took a few appointments and then the pain was washing over me. My job sent me home and I went to the urgent care close to me.
They asked a bunch of questions, ran a handful of tests, and I had to get a cat-scan.
Turns out I have a nice sized kidney stone, gave me some pain meds, told me it'd be cool. Then they come and tell me I also have diabetes.
Well. It sucks. I'm not a huge dude, definitely not my ideal weight but I'm not obese or anything. But unfortunately it runs hard in my dad's side of the family and it seems like it caught up with me.
Real life, you suck.
But whatever, it's time for me to change my habits around, eat healthier and stay positive. I'm not telling y'all this for any other reason than to just talk to some people about it... everyone around me is mission ready, talking about meal plans and exercise schedules... and I feel like I'm still in the hospital hearing the lady say "you're sugar level is at 400, you're a diabetic" over and over.
anyway... I appreciate anyone who chats with me. Have a good night and don't ever ever forget.

You can handle the diabeetus.
My mom is diabetic, and she's going to be 67 in a couple weeks.
Getting in shape will probably help with the kidney stones, too. I used to get them in high school/college, but they went away when my sodium and sugar intake dropped.
I mean, I need to get in shape myself, but those things helped.
Also real life is notoriously a dick.
They can use Ultrasound to break up kidney stones.
