Equestria Girls/Starfleet Human VS Mane PonyVerse · 1:28am Jul 23rd, 2017
In response to a certain riffer's mock...
I wasn't originally going to do this since (He doesn't care anyway) but I cannot believe so many people are such dodos when it comes to things like this, in my view they could find water if they were fish!
So, Despite the obvious pointless in making this argument (as it won't change people's lousy attitudes) what the hey.
The Pony Verse and the Human World may be similar in some ways, but naturally there are key differences. I had even stated this theory (Which has been proven correct) in my own Starfleet Magic Season 6.
Pony-Verse creatures and their human world counterparts do not have 100% everything in common. There are key differences.
Example.
Princess Celestia is a 1000 year-old deity empress, and the supreme monarch of all of Equestria.
While her HUMAN counterpart, Principal Celestia... is just that; nothing-more than a mere high school Principal. Either in her late 30s or early 40s. she can't even do card tricks, let alone raise the sun. (In my Starfleet Verse, she's a former Champion horse rider.) Since in all her history she has no history that we know of... I am free to shape her life however I desire. (What she was like growing up. what she did BEFORE she came to Canterlot High)
The two of them are so NOT the same.
The same goes for my own characters.
GRAND RULER CELESTO
A three-horned humanoid Alicorn whom has traveled across countless star-systems, battled many foes and saved many worlds.
While his Human counterpart, Celesto Grand-Ruler. Is a retired astronaut who's only been as far as the moon (In Starfleet humans it was said he was one of the last few men to walk on the moon) Now he is a millionaire, businessman and director/chairman of the school board, also the OWNER and BUILDER of Canterlot High.
Again, that is not 100% the same. Heck, even their names are not the same.
Pony: "Grand Ruler Celesto Arron Goldenite"
Human: "Celesto Grandruler" (Haven't decided his middle name, and don't care to)
And BTW, as for calling him stuish and stuff for being rich and having all these resources consider this... If he wasn't rich, and didn't have all these resources, how can he possibly help people, how can he get anything accomplished at all.
You have to SPEND Money to MAKE money (Yes, that's true) But to SPEND Money... ya gotta HAVE money."
Point is, not all Human World creatures share the exact same traits with their Pony/Ponyverse counterparts. Some may not even HAVE a Ponyverse/Humanworld counterpart. (Goldwin doesn't, because he was artificially and magically created)
*Quotes from Doc McStuffins*
Doc: "Stuffy, you and Dragonbot might BOTH be dragons, but you're very different kinds of toys. You're a stuffed dragon, and he's a robot action-toy."\
(That was the best way I could put it)
Bottomline, not everyone has the total same things in common.
So, my starfleet humans WILL not start in any military school, not in my verse anyway. Especially consider NOT EVERY SINGLE SPACE PONY is a member of Starfleet, there are Space Pony Civilians. (Joining Starfleet is No obligation or order, it's a CHOICE... free-will... your own doing... but the age restriction for the academy is at least 12-14+)
But also, how could they even start on Earth?
Equestria is supposed to be the equivalent of Earth, right...? But, the space ponies (Though made from Equestrian DNA) they all started out on Unicornicopia, and others were born on other planets.
Lightning... Harmonious.
Artie... Monotane
The Spanish Twins... El Mundo.
Lightning only traveled to Earth in Starfleet Humans because THAT is where his transport took him too, but wouldn't the Starfleet Humans all be aliens then... from Mars... or Neptune... or even from outside the freaking Solar System?! And then too... if they came to Earth, wouldn't they naturally be stronger than the Equestria Girls already, WITHOUT Pony Lightning Dawn having to give them their first-ever power up.
You really don't use your head, do you?
In my verse they are perfectly fine at Canterlot High. Not all humans have the total sameness as their ponies do.
As for their character, again, my rules... they only are permitted what I DEEM fit (In my verse) If I don't like it (If it's avoidable) then they shall not have it (If isn't avoidable at times, I'll have to bite the bullet)
Rhymey (William) may be gentle and talk in rhyme and make songs for Fluttershy: I like that just fine. I don't want him being some abusive overbearing jerk like that Jeff from Family Guy.
I DESPISE any and all characteristics like that, hence why none of my own characters act, or are PERMITTED to act like that in my world. (Abusing their girlfriend/boyfriend, and acting all pushy and refusing to listen)
Rhymey doesn't do that with Fluttershy. I prefer to make his and Fluttshy's relationship beautiful, and easy-going. He's there for her when she needs him and vice-versa. they have few arguments, they help each other out. It breaks their hearts when they cry or are upset/frustrated.
That way I get to do things like Rhymey serenading Fluttershy gentily and make songs and poems about her...
(I made this for and gave it to Andrea Libman when I saw her again in 2016. She loved it)
(The song is a spoof I made of a Sesame Street song)
(skip to 10:24... there's the music)
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
Yellow as sunlight, warm as can be
Caring to all with love and with glee
Sweet as a mother caring for all
Timid at times, but sweet like a doll
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
When you are smiling, the light does grow
When you are weeping, it hurts me just so
When you are shy you just have know…
You’re Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…!
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
Lovely like springtime, soft as the breeze
Friend to the creatures, flowers and trees
Magical wonders surrounding you
Helping the world just as you do
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
What are the secrets that make you flow?
How does it come to you, where does it go?
It doesn’t matter, I love you so…
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
Fluttershy…
…Fluttershy!
And don't forget, this isn't supposed be some Rated R swearing, banging, bloodfest... it's supposed rated within the same kiddy-like way as MLP is itself... or in my case... POWER RANGERS LIKE. (Rated for ages 8 and up as best you can) Flats Characters or not... YOU STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES!!
There are also many things I DON'T CARE TO EXPLAIN, because
A: There's hardly any room for them withing the allowed word-limit per chapter/episode/act (50,000 words is MUCH too long for a 22 minute episode or a 5-10 minute act)
B: It's not even relevant to the story. It's just there to be there.
why did Cookie Dough appear in the first episode?
Because he just DID, that's it. There's no need for any super reason behind it. It's just there... that's all
Grandpa Joe: "What difference does it make "Where" he got it? Point is he got it"
Me: "What difference does it make WHY he's there? Point is, he's there"
A: Not every single solitary thing needs to be explained (Especially if it's not relevant to the actual plot)
B: With the allowed word limit, every single thing CANNOT be explained within the space of a single episode. (TV shows don't do that, some things take the entire season to unfold and understand. They don't explain the whole thing or give it all away in just one ep)
Even Twilight herself AGREES... (1:36)
As far as Character goes... as I told you, there are attitudes and styles that I don't like, don't want and am not willing to put up with.
In other words... let's look at Twilight for this...
In some episodes, she's acts like this (Calm, level-headed and mature)
In other episodes, she freaks out... (Yet when I make her have one of these outburts, you all act like she's OOC. Idiots)
Other times she acts WICKED excited...
So, you got option 1 (Mature and level-headed)
Option 2: (Panicking and whacked out)
Option 3: (Overly enthusiastic)
...PICK ONE... and ONLY ONE. I prefer to keep Twilight One-dimensional so I can judge her easily. -Twilight Sparkle is too narrow-minded I refuse to see her anything else but that... and all because I don't like her (The same way you people harshed on my characters and the many other characters from other shows before them)
Also, it doesn't matter to me if they have JOBS, or CONTRIBUTE, or even do wild activities.
Only ATTITUDE is what builds a character background.
-Jobs don't build character... they build income
-Sports don't build character... they build muscle.
-Studying doesn't build character... it builds the mind. (Usually on a pointless subject)
Only ATTITUDE it what truly builds a character or person in real life or fiction. In fact, this gives me great inspo for a new Friendship is Failure, and a revision of a character I already used.
Point is, there's the rules for my world, you don't like it... don't read it and get lost!
hmm, I'm guessing from the introduction I'm not the intended audience of this message...
Nevertheless, I decided to take a read at it.
For the most part, I don't really have anything to say since I'm not aware of the ongoing argument this message is part of.
Some points however I feel I should address.
On this argument I have two things to say.
On one hand, you seem to believe money is required to help others? What?
Little fact here. Cambodia is the country that received the most money in aids and remains one of the poorest countries. Throwing money at a problem doesn't make it go away. It requires 'boots on the ground' and knowledge. None of those require a person to be rich to possess. I should know, I've been there. I've seen it with my own eyes.
Furthermore, plenty of people made millions and even billions without starting rich. The one who made clash of clans was just a regular person, not even a developer, yet he got an idea for a game that ended up making millions daily. Neither was the founder of Facebook rich before.
You don't necessarily need to have money to make money. The world has proven this on multiple occasions.
On the other hand, I disagree with the idea that a rich/successful character must be a Sue. I see way too many accusations of Sue-ish character simply because they are shown as powerful or successful. That's not what a Sue is.
That your characters are one-dimensional may allow one or more to be Sues, because one sign of a Sue is being one-dimensional, but hey, that's one of the core rules for your writing so there's no point in discussing that.
As an author, you are free to interpret a character however you wish. It is fanfiction, not official material. That said, you seem to admit your interpretation of say, Twilight, is wrong (since she has more facets of herself than just one), or at least incomplete. I don't really mind since these are the rules for your fics.
Actually, whether them or you, it's considered quite petty to purposely take only one character's personality and exaggerate it. The reason for this line of thinking is, if an author chooses to take an existing character to write about, he should understand that character and write it faithfully.
Doing that because you choose to use rather unique (and it seems, controversial) rules for your fics is ok, but doing that only because you dislike a character is, well... It's one reason I'm not choosing to ignore quite a lot of fics. I find such stories to be very unpleasant to read.
Lastly,
This. I can do nothing but disagree with you for my own life proves me otherwise. I have a job, I did study up to my master's degree (is that their proper name in english?) and I have started/given up exercice and sports countless times (until recently, when I finally managed to keep going. I'm quite proud of that too!). All of these did have their role in molding my attitude. A great deal of it in fact.
I cannot possibly deny the experiences that helped me become what I am, therefore I cannot agree with a statement that denies such experiences.

No, not you... this is intended at Legendbringer (He's planning on botching up my characters even worse becuase he refuses to listen or accept)
Not trying to be mean, just offering my counter-arguments. (If you wish to respond after this, do it by PM please)
Perhaps, but that's not the same story this time. How is Celesto supposed to afford and make all his wondrous devices... it costs MONEY, you don't just FIND them or have someone give them to you. (He created the ranger powers with the aid of his company, but that took TIME... PLANNING... and above all, it required MONEY to make all the machines and devices work.)
When Sunset's Star-Jet was damaged he ordered and PAID for components from aircraft corps all over the world, but again... it cost money!
*Quotes from "The Core"*
General: "What would it take you have it all ready in let's say... 3 months?"
Technician: *Laughs heavily* Three mo-- *Laughs* 50 billion dollars at least!"
My previous counter-argument overrules this argument as well.
Unfortunately the world has not improved in the LEAST BIT (If anything it's gotten worse) Even though it was American Dad that made me believe this, it is true.
It's more MONEY that makes the world go round, not love and compassion.
-What did you buy your groceries with?
-How did you pay your bills and taxes?
-"I'd like to order a pizza... I have no money but I have plenty of LOVE... do you accept LOVE?"
Anyway, Celesto is rich to make it quick and easy to understand.
This is the only way I can put it at best...
Attitude is what determines if you're a good person or a bad (in my view) It doesn't matter if you have a job, or studied and all that jazz, it's how you behave and treat others that counts.
In My Starfleet Season 3 Kanna Ling (Cookie Dough's wife) her father Ho Meng, he might be a master cook and can make lovely dishes, but his ego is baffling, his grumpy attitude towards others is highly intolerable, and such things like this COST him the title of Silver Chef.
I'll put it in another way...
Say Rarity wants to enter the ROYAL FASHION ACADEMY (Rarity, being Rarity... she'd jump at it) but we all know how melodramatic, easily aggravated and quick-tempered Rarity is.
So... despite that she is a great seamstress, and CAN be generous at times, she still behaved very badly.
Judge: You have marvelous talent, and you could be a great artist... however, I regret to inform you that your attitude is completely unacceptable. It would seem you have no control over your emotions at all, and I'm afraid that makes you ineligible to attend our academy at this time. I'm sorry
My Point of View... (And even my hater's twisted points of view)
Just because you have a job and maybe even graduated from university and all that... or even if you donate to charity and help people...
...That doesn't mean you are a good person or should be praised (Only your attitude and behavior decides that) You're either ALL good or ALL bad, but no going from BAD to GOOD and then back again. Pick one... only one.
Mmmm interesting tho can ones attitude change?
