By now most of you have probably noticed I haven't submitted a chapter in almost a month. Well there's a pretty good reason for that. I could have had it ready for submission sometime this week but I didn't like the direction things were going so I decided to do some reediting.
As of right now I'm not sure how much longer this chapter will go on or if I'll cut it short. Once that's done I need to find a stopping point for the next chapter that satisfies me. That's going to take some brainstorming. Also things have been pretty hot so far so the air conditioning is on most of the day. I'm like a cat getting comfortable in that state and prone to laying around.
Anyway I've got a headache so I'm going to take some pills and cover my forehead with a pillow and when I feel better I'll get to work.
If you've any ideas for further adventures for Apple Comet. Leave them in the comments below. I really enjoy sitting down to read them.
The only adventures I can think of (beyond the "power control" stuff you mentioned for the next chapter in an earlier blog) are the following:
1. Comet helping Apple Bloom discover her special talent with tools and potions and get her Cutie Mark (in this universe, represented by a white apple-shaped potion bottle and a red apple-shaped toolbox) years earlier than canon (perhaps even two years before Diamond Tiara does) (after all, this IS an alternate universe story anyway; no need to anchor it TOO heavily to canon).
2. Comet does a super-speed run that takes him all the way to Griffonstone, where he meets, befriends and inspires a young griffon chick named Gabby (i.e. not only motivating her to be as helpful as possible, but also learn how to do A LOT of stuff REALLY well [in that, I mean she would now know there is a really nice kid out there that can do a lot of really cool stuff and, if she can be even one-quarter as good as him, she would be doing VERY well indeed).
3. Comet could end up meeting up with some fillies and colts from a few centuries in the future (who turn out to be super-powered descendants of many of Equestria's greatest future heroes [like the Mane Six, Shining Armor and the Cutie Mark Crusaders] who were all inspired by HIS future exploits as Supercolt and Super-Stallion)
4. Nightmare Moon returns, Comet (who, by this time, would be physically ten years old, but as mentally developed as an average 22-year old), dons a super-hero costume for the first time to help his big sister and her future best friends stop her (this would be Comet's FIRST actual adventure as Supercolt [logically speaking, he wouldn't be Super-STALLION until he at least 21 years old, which would be eleven years after the start of the "Friendship is Magic" series).
5. Comet TRIES TO help out the Mane Six against Discord, only to discover his weakness against REALLY powerful magic the hard way (in terms of ability AND personality, Discord would make an EXCELLENT analogue to Mister Mxyzptlk, save for being smart enough to NOT play by a "vanishing for 90 days if somebody gets him to say his name backwards" rule).
and 6. Comet has his first clash with the Flim-Flam Brothers (as they are pretty much the Apple Family arch-enemies AND combine elements of both mad scientists AND crooked businessmen, they would make excellent analogues to Lex Luthor).
Hopefully, you like at least one or two of these ideas enough to use them. If not, I profusely apologize for wasting your time.
This is another possible couple of adventures I thought of:
1. Comet, as Supercolt, faces off against Ultracolt (an evil version of himself from an alternate universe who not only has every super-power HE does, but also the added benefit of Koltronite actually making him STRONGER) In a battle so epic that it takes him the entire length of the Season Four finale PLUS the entire length of the "Rainbow Rocks" film AND the entire length of the Season Five opener to prevail.
and 2. Comet tries to foalsit Flurry Heart while Sunburst is on a date with Starlight.
Of course, I can completely understand if you don't like either one of these.
