Stallion of Steel

It's never as bad as it seems. In this world there is right and there is wrong, and that distinction is not difficult to make. You're much stronger than you think you are. Trust me.

    Where've been part 2

If it seems that I've been taking forever it's because I have. As I said in my last blog I was trying to make some changes in my life. Some are going okay, others not so okay. I failed my road test due to a simple mistake caused by a migraine. So now I have to take online courses and practice for 24 hours. Plus I'm trying out some new medication to help my migraines. It helps somewhat, but I have

    Where I've been.

So it's been a while since I did any writing here. There are mainly three reasons for this.

    1. My depression. My depression has been rearing its ugly head again. Luckily I could locate a therapist nearby and schedule an appointment for a session.

    Update: where I've been.

It's been two...I think months since I last posted a chapter. I've kind of been busy with other things. Mostly work related. As well as dealing with a bit of writers block. I'll try to get Super Bloom part 2 finished this month. I promise.

    Comet Update.

I'm writing this post to inform you that I've struggled to stay motivated with my writing lately. I've just been overwhelmed with everything that's happening in the world. I keep finding myself easily distracted by news stories and the things I used to do for fun, don't seem to elicit joy from me anymore. I thought at first it was because I was tired from working. But now I think I might be at

Legion of Superhero Characters. · 7:13pm Dec 10th, 2022

So one of the upcoming chapters will be based on its about time. After reading some feedback, I've decided this would be a place to introduce the Legion of Superheroes. The story will closely follow their debut in Adventure Comics #247 The heroes are to be presented as follows.

Saturn Mare: A unicorn mare named Rhea Dione. She hails from an Equestrian Space Colony on Titan. She is a powerful magic wielder particularly when it comes to mental-based spells. She idolizes Princess Twilight Sparkle and considers her to be her inspiration. Her Cutie Mark is a brain surrounded by Saturn rings and telepathic waves.

Lightning Bolt: A pegasus stallion named Crown Flash. Possesses the power to generate and manipulate lightning. He is eager and hotheaded and a bit of a showoff. But has a good heart. His Cutie Mark is a pair of golden lightning bolts in a V-shape.

Cosmic Colt: An earth pony named Lodestar. his power is that he can generate and manipulate magnetic fields through his hooves. He is normally a calm and collected leader, but he becomes a fanboy upon meeting Apple Comet for the first time. His Cutie Mark is a horseshoe magic with magnetic waves emitting from it.

The plot of the story is based on the Superman animated series episode New Kids in Town and involves the three heroes traveling back in time from Gen 5 to Gen 4 to save Apple Comet from Maneframe, a rogue Koltonian supercomputer turned android. Maneframe wishes to eliminate Apple Comet before he becomes known as the Stallion of Steel because it will prevent the Legion from existing and allow him to take over Equus.

Yeah. That sounds like a pretty good one. Another member of the Legion, not seen until the main three return to their own time is Maneframe-Five, one of Maneframe's much more heroic, but equally intelligent descendants who, in fact, created the method the main three Legion members used to travel through time.

And Maneframe's scheme could be expanded to targeting not just Comet, but also the Crusaders AND Spike before three of those other four would gain the powers they would later and before Scootaloo took up the mantle of the Flash and definitely before all five of them would become half of the founding members of the Justice Stable of Equestria (the other half being Little Strongheart, Bruce, Flurry Heart, Thorax and Queen Novo). Aside from Comet, Spike is the one Maneframe wants dead the most because, well, he is one of the comparatively few Justice Stable members that's still alive in the Legion's time (given dragons have a life span of well over a thousand years) and, having been a Green Lantern since the return of the Crystal Empire (after all, helping beat Sombra would definitely qualify for the "overcoming great fear" deal for becoming a Green Lantern) that would make him the most experienced hero that wasn't a member of the Legion AND one of the most experienced of the Corps in general. Let's just say that a literally mountain-sized dragon with more than a thousand years of experience as a Green Lantern is somebody NO sane villain would want to mess with and even Maneframe would know that. But taking him out BEFORE he became a Green Lantern, well, that's a horse of a different color.

Plus, a couple of other possible Legion members that could appear in end speaking cameos:

Sunny Starscout/Dawnstar: A graduate student at the School of Friendship (which is still active and thriving in the Legion's time, since the Justice Stable helped Princess Twilight stop Opaline without Twilight being forced to seal away the magic [in fact, they ALSO help her make the realization concerning actually making the magic STRONGER to make it too hot for Opaline to handle]) working on getting her teaching certificate, she possesses the power to mentally summon hard-light energy construct wings and horn that give her the magic of Pegasi and Unicorns in addition to her native Earth pony. When not on Legion missions or working on getting her teaching certificate, she enjoys spending time with the friends she made BEFORE she got her powers (Hitch still being her first friend, but she met and befriended Izzy, Zipp and Pipp (among other ponies) much sooner than she did in canon (as in, during childhood).

Chameleon Drake: No real name thought of yet, but he is a dragon with enough Changeling blood to be able to do the shape-shifting as well as gain increased strength and durability through earning and sharing love through LOTS of good deeds. Mind you, as a Dragon/Changeling hybrid, he has twice the proportionate strength and durability of a fair number of insects (and, as he is twice as big as most adult ponies, that means he is REALLY strong and tough [though less than what a Koltronian who has been under a yellow sun for 25 years or more would be]), plus he can fly, breathe fire and assume any form that is within the limit of being no less than one-quarter his normal size and no bigger than four times his normal size).

Misty/Shadow Mare: As this Misty NEVER ended up in Opaline's "care" and made friends with Sunny and HER friends much sooner (as in during childhood, with Izzy being her FIRST friend), she never became a villainess and is much more free to show her true decency, Misty has powerful magic allowing her to, in addition to the standard unicorn telekinesis, also mentally produce and control large amounts of darkness (plus has the magically enhanced eyesight needed to see perfectly in absolute darkness).

Though, admittedly, these ARE just ideas and I will freely admit that it's entirely your call and respect your right to not use the ideas if you don't like them.
