Age of Empires Definitive Edition

Have you guys heard?

Microsoft is remastering Age of Empires 1. Unfortunately, it's not on Steam, but I'm still buying this for sure.

Not out yet, but soon. Look for Age of Empires Definitive Edition on Microsoft Store when it's up.

I wonder if the Assyrian Jihadi Rush still works?
-Assy vills had a faster base speed
-Assy vills got Wheel (+speed), Siegecraft (+damage to structures), and Jihad (+speed, +damage, +HP), plus all resource-gathering upgrades (+rate and +efficiency of gathering)

So now we have villagers who can outrun even the fastest mounted units, compete with (low-quality) infantry units in HP and damage, smash walls faster than catapults, strip the landscape near the enemy base of resources faster than a swarm of locusts, and can gather the food needed to make more of themselves easily (rather than competing with the military units for both resources and the unit cap).

The only strategy that reliably crushed them was War Elephants. Too many HP to take down before the eles could trample-damage all the attacking villagers. You could run, you could hide, you could tear up their base, but you couldn't wipe them out.
