Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

{Shimmerverse} Roman Units 1 · 9:37pm May 31st, 2017

1: Legionarii

The backbone of the Roman Empire, these soldiers are equipped with standard runic Roman armor that gives them enough protection to put up a fight and kill in the name of their emperor. It is commonly thought that if you strike one down, ten more will take their place. Their units are form the majority of a Roman army and are employed everywhere in the Roman Empire to keep the peace.

2: Spriggan

Unlike the more docile and kinder Leshy, Spriggan are notoriously nasty sub-humans who have taken to the woods of the worlds. Because of their nasty disposition, they were able to withstand Roman persecution for so long and so well, that the Roman Empire eventually took them in to fight for them as their tricky and sadistic nature would aid them in their times of conquest and defense. Spriggan will usually follow the orders of human druids although they can be a bit brash and headstrong when it comes to working with regular humans.

3: Wyvern Riders

Used much more commonly then their Equestrian counterparts, Wyvern Riders have become a staple part of the army to counter any airborn enemy units. As well, the well trained riders can also harass enemy lines in order to break and route them to make life easier for their ground allies. They will also be used as scouts and to drop supplies for allies and bombs onto their enemies alongside the Wyvern's own fire if they can get close enough to use it as well as the Wyverns claws and jaws. The Riders are equipped with lances as to strike opponents from a distance as well as the newly developed parachute in case of emergencies. Although, Riders will seldom leave their Wyverns as they have raised them their-selves and have grown a bond with the animals.

4: Wolf Riders

Riding atop the backs of large wolves, Wolf Riders are the standard cavalry of the Roman Empire. Their sleek mounts can run down most foes and rip them to shred. Combined with the trained soldier upon his back, they are a formidable team that can hack and slash their way through an opponent's lines. The wolves and riders have light armor as to not slow them down.

5: Airborn Legionarii

Airborn Legionarii are equipped with the latest runic armor that allows them to fly. It is developed by giving them runic based wings that are formed on their backs. They are usually paired up with Wyvern Riders and those on Roman Airblimps to keep them safe. They are swift and agile in the air and can strike at any air opponent just as quickly.

6: Druid

Druids are humans attuned to nature. While they are distrusted by some sects of the Roman Empire, they are still employed in numbers in the army. They can use their nature powers to enhance others on the battlefield, such as Spriggans, and can use their powers to destroy the enemy or build defenses. They are more offensive based then most druids of other armies, but still need protecting when confronting a number of foes.

7: Giant

Another sub-race of humans, Giants were subjugated by the Romans and forced to to fight for them. Giants might not have the greatest moral because of this, but they are exceptional powerful melee fighters and can crush and tear apart soldiers of many other nations with apparent ease.

8: Paracatherium

Used as heavy mounts, these large mammals can carry a number of troops across the battlefield while also smashing their way through enemy lines. They are temperamental so their handlers have to keep a close eye on the beasts to stop them from making a wrong charge into their own lines.

9: Cannoneers

Trained to protect and handle their cannons, these soldiers will fight to the death to keep them going. Armed with standard pistols and shields, they are experts at their position.

10: Rune Caster

Rune Casters aren't as strong as your usual magic based beings, but they are extremely effective at boosting nearby allies and enhancing their equipment with their runes. As well, some Rune Casters know a number of combat effective Runes that can tear apart an enemy and keep themselves in the battle.

11: Barbarians

Human tribals that broke off from the Empire after Majesty's rampage, these uncivilized people are forced to fight for the Empire once more. Used more commonly as canon fodder, they are brutish and strong as they were raised in the wilds. They know how to sneak and get their way around the wilds of the world and will strike when you least expect it.

12: Professional Musketmen

Humans have forgone standard bows and crossbows. The Emperor himself has found Muskets and other such black powder weapons to be more civilized and effective then their arrow firing primitive cousins. So the Empire has made it a point to drill many Romans in the practice of using Muskets in concise and orderly manners. Thusly, the Romans have the best Musketmen in the world, only being challenged for the title by the Vamphirines (bat ponies). Their guns use simple runes to help them function more efficiently then a standard musket.
