Episode reviews: Uprooted/ Between Dark and Dawn/ A Trivial Pursuit

Okay, quick talk about three episodes. I know I haven't been doing these weekly but I am behind on mlp. Season 8 wasn't... as good as I would have hoped so I stopped keeping track each week. My bad. Season 9, from what I've seen, has picked up the slack. So there's some positive. I'm going to try and watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day until I get caught up. Don't worry, I'll be ready for the

Episode Review: Father Knows Best/School Raze

    1: Father Knows Best

Well this is it folks. I have finally finished season 8.... I think it's my least favorite season. Not entirely bad, but just not as good as others. I'm surprised really. I never thought I'd see a day I'd like a season less then season 4 but here it is. So let's start off by going over the last two episodes of this season shall we?

New Chapter coming soon (The Greatest Treasure/Fate Pony)

Heyo everyone. It seems I've got my writing mojo back. Well now I've finally started the next chapter of TGT and my Fate pony fic. They should be done by the weekend if not tomorrow. I hope it'll be worth the wait.

    (Spoiler review) What Lies Beneath

Still need to catch up on season 8. Don't worry. I won't be out of the loop once season 9 ends. I plan on binging the show until then. So hopefully I'll get a review done a day. So let's start with this one.

{Shimmerverse} Time Chargers · 5:30pm May 11th, 2017

Time Chargers are a strange race of ponies. Some researchers are hesitant to actually classify them as the same species. Outwardly, they appear exactly like any other pony. They have three races and are shown to have the same sorts of affinities to their respective racial traits that they are pretty much identical. However, then comes a number of differences.

The first being that Time Chargers are short scope telepaths. Meaning they can:
-Understand any presented language, whether written or spoken
-Are able to share thoughts and read them if in close contact with another

As well, Time Chargers don't age like normal equines. Instead, Time Chargers have multiple lives. If allowed to age normally, it can take several centuries (usually around 1000 years) to age a single life of which they have twelve. However, if they are injured to the point of near death, a failsafe will be enacted. Scientists find this failsafe to be a genetic trick to safeguard the Time Charger. Their cells will reorganize themselves into a new body to give the Charger a chance to survive. This does leave them in a weakened state, but very much alive. This failsafe will also start at the end of every life if left at their own devices. Time Chargers can of course choose to stop this failsafe from activating if they so wish and die.

Time Chargers are able to perceive and remember information in amounts and speeds most, if not any, species on the planet can. They have often referred to themselves as 'biological computers' of the sorts because of it. They also have two hearts instead of one.

While their biology is both similar and strange, it is their history that is particularly strange. They were first seen a few centuries after the end of Discord's reign having crashed what they called a 'Tardis' into Equestria. The small 'spaceship' was able to house a few million Time Chargers. Grand Princess Celestia and Luna approached the stranded ponies.

They were eager to tell their tale, of how they were created by the ancient alicorns to be foot soldiers and fight the monstrous Kur, gigantic dragon like creatures that were scientific geniuses. This war nearly destroyed the entire universe with its ferocity. However, both sides were eventually weakened and destroyed by a being known as Chaos, created by their fighting. Said being and two forces were eventually destroyed and the remaining Time Chargers were able to escape their destruction. Some theorize that this is what opened up the realms to Equestria. Of course, 'The Great Unification' took place over a hundred thousand years ago while the Time Chargers only arrived less then five thousand. That being said, the Time Chargers claim to have jumped ahead in time during their escape.

After being allowed to stay in Equestria and become citizens, many settled down for normal lives. However, it wasn't long before the Time Chargers were able to locate what was a long since abandoned Time Charger military station on the moon. Using their technology, they were able to refit and expand it to be a city in of itself. Few beings except Time Chargers were allowed on bored. Luna and many lunar gods and beings weren't too pleased by this but there wasn't any major push back at this time. The city would eventually be named New Gallopfrey.

For the next few thousand years, the Time Chargers would mostly stay out of conflicts. Instead, they were content with just living their lives in peace and not many wished to go back to warfare that they so desperately escaped. Some did, but acted more as mercenaries then anything else. Their technology far exceeded any past or present tech that has been developed by normal scientists. One such thing is weaponry, having far superior 'energy rifles' and mechanized 'vehicles'. Unfortunately, there are two problems with this:

1: The Gallopfreyans would not share their technology with the other races for fear of it getting out of hoof
2: All Time Charger tech is genetically designed to only work for them and will not work for others.

While frustrating, the Royal Sisters complied with their wishes and kept ruling as they had done beforehoof.

This all changed when Nightmare Moon came about. Fearing the possibilities of the Time Chargers, she set out to exterminate their entire race. Her efforts in the mainland were more fruitful as the Time Chargers inside Equestria were more scattered about and didn't have any real military presence. Her efforts at taking New Gallopfrey took over a year for her to conquer and she was only able to do so because of her affinity with the moon.

The initial attacks were led by one of her more powerful Generals, Grogar {The Almost}. As always, he ALMOST took New Gallopfrey several times but was thwarted due to the Time Chargers having superior weaponry and having centuries of combat experience. Eventually having enough of their resistance, Nightmare Moon herself took it upon herself to end the Time Charger city. Within a month of her arrival, with her god powers, she was able to destroy the city. However, it was a Pyrrhic victory and cost Nightmare time and resources that she couldn't readily replace. This spurred on her change of plans. Instead of widdling down Celestia's forces and humiliating her, she would push to the capital as fast as she could and destroy her personally.

The war was costly for everyone in Equestria, but especially so for the Time Chargers. What once was a population of a few million, was now just around 800,000. After this, Time Chargers took more active roles to safeguard Equestria as many of them only survived thanks to the brave actions of Celestia, the other gods, and of every day citizens who helped hide them from Nightmare's forces. While they don't actively group up into armies themselves, due to fearing for their extinction, they do often send in units to accompany armies and help local militias when the circumstances require it. While some Time Chargers do wish to remake New Gallopfrey, many fear going back to the lunar station for what may still 'live' there.

For now, Time Chargers are content with being full citizens of Equestia and will lay down their lives for their nation.

Not bad and right now I am making a fan fic that shares with the Shimmerverse but it is about another character.

Out of curiosity, do you consider the Time Chargers to be worfed compared to the Time Lords? I've been tossing around the idea of doing a Doctor Whooves story and would like to get an idea how most people see them.

4528713 i wouldn't say worfed, just that they don't have access to the amount of technology or time travel that Time Lords have given their circumstances.

Fascinating stuff, good work.

I was interested until about halfway through when I realized you'd just copied Doctor Who bullshit instead of coming up with something of your own.
