IN WHICH I THINK I'VE GOT IT MAYBE
Hey! It's after 5am (CDT), and I'm still awake, writing a blogpost! What the hell is wrong with me? If you would be so kind as to please follow me past the jump, I shall explain.
So I had a doctor's appointment today at 1pm. I had my alarm set for 10. Unfortunately, I didn't wake up until 12:25. It takes 15-18 minutes to drive across the city. Naturally, I was kind of in a hurry. Not panicking, oddly enough (maybe it's the pills?), but I had no time to do anything except clothe myself and feed the cat on my way out the door. I didn't even eat my first meal of the day until 3pm -- bowl of cereal, which required me going to the store to buy milk.
Not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to see the doctor. I live in the bad ol' U-S-of-A, where Congress will vote later today to take away my friends' healthcare and make mine prohibitively expensive. Although maybe the fact that I suffer from OCD, depression, paranoia, panic attacks, triggered mood swings, and frequently consider ending my own life might qualify me for government assistance… unless real-life Orangeglow and his government stooges take that away too.
I've also found myself spending part of the night talking a new friend down from the proverbial ledge. He's going through a lot of the same stuff I'm facing or have faced. I'm always willing to help, as listening is about the only thing I have any talent in whatsoever. Well, some here (and many of my old teachers) might say I have a talent for writing, but I'm merely a minnow in this great lake of horsewords, and not necessarily one worth catching.
On a happier note, I had another back-and-forth with my prereader for Rarity Reveals... and he and I both agree it's just about ready to post. At his suggestion, I changed one sentence in the opening paragraph which in hindsight did kinda suck. I think the opening flows better now. Sometimes in writing it's the little things that really make a story hum. It is my hope that Reveals will do that once I finally post it, and that my three loyal readers will like it.
On an even better note, I mentioned in a previous blogpost that, although I like how I ended Spider Queen, it still feels incomplete to me. Well, I'm writing a short epilogue that might get posted tomorrow. My original plan was to have it be from Rarity's perspective, but Coffee convinced me to make it from Sunset's instead. I'm shamelessly stealing his suggestions for the epilogue. I hope you'll enjoy it once it's posted.
I'm going to try to sleep now. Peace out!
