I’ve Launched My First Long Story: “Teatime - A Novel Of Twilight & Celestia” · 7:05pm Apr 8th, 2017
I just released the opening chapters to a new story entitled “Teatime - A Novel Of Twilight & Celestia”. It will ultimately be a long piece about the evolving relationship between Twilight and Celestia. The first draft of the entire story is complete and I look forward to posting more chapters on a regular basis.
I’ve had a blast writing just for me and my beta reader. I got to tell some revisionist history. I got to deal with palace politics. I got to explore Twilight’s relationship with Spike and with Starlight. And most importantly, I got to delve into the personalities of Twilight and Celestia and see how they interacted. They are both fascinating characters with a ton of history, shared and unshared.
Soon I’ll get to have the fun of seeing what the community here thinks. Because once a story is published, the writer loses sole control over what it means. That responsibility is jointly taken up by the author and the readers.
One of the things that propelled me through the process of writing my first novel length story were the example of all the writers on FimFiction whose work I’ve enjoyed. Because, if they can write so many cool stories that I love to read, then I should be able to write something for them (and all the other people in the community) to enjoy as well. Thank you to everyone in the community for all their contributions.
