This is what I apparently do with my life now. I'm okay with this.
The technology for CDs and DVDs may be able to be used in the future for currently experimental "Holographic Versatile Discs," since they still use lasers for encoding and decoding data.
At one point there were 2.88 megabyte floppy discs, but by then, the floppy was already dying.
