This is what I apparently do with my life now. I'm okay with this. 
The technology for CDs and DVDs may be able to be used in the future for currently experimental "Holographic Versatile Discs," since they still use lasers for encoding and decoding data.
At one point there were 2.88 megabyte floppy discs, but by then, the floppy was already dying.
PCI-E is actually recognized by the host system as a normal PCI slot for backwards compatibility.
Kodak made the world's first digital camera. (I'm not sure if I posted this already or not.)
Thomas Edison made hundreds upon thousands of prototypes for lightbulbs before finding one that worked.
