Mel Waters lived in a town which was home to a strange, bottomless pit. The local people would throw their garbage in it (and had been doing so for more than fifty years), but no one ever heard the garbage hitting the bottom of it. Mel eventually came in possession of the land where the hole was located. He did a bunch of tests on it to see if he could find out how deep the hole was. But no matter how many tests he ran, he could never figure out how deep the hole was. The story gets strange after the government essentially confiscated his land and paid for him to leave the country. Mel did leave the country for a certain amount of time but he eventually returned. And when he did he found out that the government had put his land in possession of the government and had forbid him from ever returning to it.
A number of years later, Mel found a similar hole in Nevada. He ran many tests on it, similar to what he had ran on the original hole. But like the first one, he could never find the bottom of it. Things that got lowered into it would get cooked from the inside out and have weird ice crystals formed around them when they were pulled back up. After finding the second hole, Mel didn't make any more details online about his discoveries. No one knows what happened to Mel and the exact location of the second hole was never revealed.
But the location of the first hole is known and is strangely blocked out on Google maps. So there is definitely something about these bottomless holes that the government doesn't want the general public to know about.

I think it would be either Area 51, formed because the things they're keeping in there are trying to get out, or simply other dimensions. The second is more likely, but you never know.
4453202 I believe the original hole was in Washington, so I don't think Area 51 had much to do with it. But other government organizations such as the CIA or some weird branches of government the general public isn't aware of (such as the alleged Men in Black) might have had something to do with seizing the land and making sure the general public didn't have access to it.
It definitely makes you wonder what the holes in Washington (the one that was seized by the government) and Nevada (the hole that was never found) lead to. And what could potentially be crawling out of them. :o

Also...okay...I just watched the video, and assuming the thing about the tumors and the seal creature is real, I'm convinced; that is definitely a portal to another universe. I personally have formed my own complete theory about inter-universal travel, and going off of that, it would make the most sense. What confuses me though, is how the government would know about it. One of them would have had to go in, after all.
4453213 I believe the government came to know about it because the man in the story (Mel Waters) shared his experience live on a paranormal radio show, during some time in the late 90s. Since it was widely publicized. it attracted the attention of government agents. And those government agents were the ones who ended up seizing the land.
