    Droppin' By

Hello, I was in the neighborhood and had just realized that my last blog post was a bit of a downer, given that it was around the time of my Grandma's passing and funeral. I think I oughta leave you folks with something a bit more upbeat or at least something neutral.

    And Now, A Newsletter

Huh, back in July I said I oughta talk more around here. It's now the day after Christmas and I have not, in fact, talked more around here.

So, I'll give you the rundown on what I've been up to since then. Warning, it gets a little long in talking about last summer's vacation and about a new fixation I have.

Oops, I Did It Again · 12:41am Mar 8th, 2017

In order to distract myself from these crazy emotions that I've been feeling today (I swear, if this diagnosis of my back pain turns out to be another dead end... :twilightangry2:), I figure I shall share some more ponies from my mind.

What? More? Yeah, because my overactive imagination just can't stop. I want to clone myself so me and the "Sketch Squad" can work on several story ideas involving both canon characters and my many OCs at once, somehow keeping all our minds in sync, and main Sketch can continue on with real life stuff without skipping a beat. Wouldn't that be nice?

By the way, most of these are folks you've met in Brotherly Bonding Time or another story or heard about in a Birthday Bio.

Anyway...

Argent Luster--Son and second foal of Silver Shill and Coco Pommel. Little colt with a sunny disposition, though he's incredibly gifted at sneakiness, enough that he seems to teleport (much to big sister Steel Wool's chagrin). He's also pretty agile, so he's like a mini master of parkour and martial arts. Thanks to ridiculous brainstorming with my sister Artsy Notes, we settled on him being a secret agent when he's all grown up, though while still a colt, he'll be delivering newspapers.

Coppersmith--Here, we have the husband of Platinum Pen. He's a humble metalworker that has a bit of an unlucky streak with events that eventually turn out to be blessings in disguise (getting accused of a crime and standing trial is how he met Penny). Despite that, he's quite happy and content with his life. He can get very irritated with surprises, and is the type who'd rather prepare things beforehand.

Noble Metal (II)--Penny and Copper's eldest son. Named after his maternal grandfather, he's an excitable and imaginative colt that loves a good comic. Like the superheroes he reads and some ponies that he hears about, he wants to be a hero that protects the Equestrian citizens. While he won't save the country anytime soon, he's bound to help others in smaller ways throughout the years (and he grows up to be a bodyguard for a model--Willow). He's quite protective of his siblings Cobalt Blue and Bronze Medallion, though he does not like them touching his comics and action figures.

Harbor Tide--Bluejinx's maternal uncle. Inheriting Mama Navy Stardust's love of the sea, his interest manifests in a different way--namely that of studying it and the life within it. Working in Baltimare's aquarium, he's an advocate for sea life and is willing to teach foals all about them. During some trips in the ocean, he's even ended up making some friends with sea ponies.

Jelly Jubilee--Fiancee of Peanut Butter Sandwich. Having bounced from fruit farm to fruit farm in her youth (born in Alfalfaston, moved to Halterside as a teen, tried to attend school not far from Applewood but overestimated the tuition and ended up working at a fruit farm), Jelly's a sort of a goofy, folksy kind of girl that takes life head on despite her scatterbrained nature causing problems more than once. Like her name implies, she's a natural at making edible fruit products and is as sweet as can be. Right now, I'm trying to decide if she has any relation to Cherry Jubilee.

Herb--Father of Sugar Belle. A master chef at a fancy Fillydelphia restaurant, he has a tongue and a nose that are exceptional for detecting both the good and the bad in a dish. Unfortunately, that's a double-edged sword, and he's an aggressive, picky perfectionist when it comes to the culinary arts. Add in that his job gets pretty stressful and he's been grieving over his wife's death for years... you can guess why Sugar Belle doesn't like him very much.

Dandelion Burst--Father and manager of young pop singer Snapdragon Apple. While he can be overbearing, airheaded, and a bit too cheerful for his own good, "Dandy" is a sincerely sweet and polite fellow that just wants the best for his son. He might spoil "Snap" just a little bit, or have to deal with whatever mischief he gets into, often wishing his wife was alive to help him. Regardless, he does his best.

Snapdragon Apple--Son of Dandy and the late Honeycrisp, he's a distant member of the Apple Family descended from the founder of Applewood. While kind of spoiled, egotistical, and flirtatious, he does really like interacting with other ponies and just wants his fans to have fun--though he often gets into trouble on a regular basis. He plays off his schtick of "changing eye colors" like a big, interesting mystery about his true eye color--though, he only wears contacts in the first place in order to hide a certain weakness of his, much like his refusal to let his more emotional side show.

What? No... he looks nothing like Tomato, I don't know what you're talking about. :pinkiecrazy:

Kindly Light--Childhood friend of Flora Peace. Kindly has always been a friendly and cheerful go-getter who wants to lead ponies down a better path. She easily makes friends, even with the shiest or the grumpiest of ponies, and is determined to live up to her name. She's always eager to serve others, and frequently leads service and charity projects in her community. She's also kind of boy-crazy, and sometimes she works up a sweat stressing herself over too many projects or one failed one (Flora always had the task of keeping her down to earth, and has told her to take it easy--especially since Flora's now attending school in a faraway city and can't really help her).

Red Sonnet--Maternal grandfather of Bluejinx. He was a Manehattan lawmaker back in the day, though he's always had a strange mystical imagination about him. He'd write poems in his spare time and submit them to newspapers under a pseudonym. He met his wife Navy by way of getting captured by pirates--they worked together, using wit, eloquence, and sea ponies--and then having her visit from time to time until they wed. He's been the main caretaker of their three foals until they grew up, and he later succumbed to a terrible illness.

Juneflower--Wife of the Great Ponyacci. They met by way of her being his makeup artist, and she was the serious one paired with Ponyacci's silly. She had demanded he try to romance her conventionally, but fighting against his funny urges was very, very difficult for him. Eventually, she decided that his funny was why she loved him and switched to encouraging it instead. June remained quite tough-minded for some time, using it in both making sure her husband wasn't ever too malicious in the name of laughter and in getting her kids an education and keeping them fed. She's long since retired, but she remains her mixture of sharp, tough, and yet rather sweet, especially since she's now become a schoolmarm.

Well, there you go. Hope you like them.

I love Snapdragon Apple! I'm not sure if it's because he's a "what if Tommy had run away from home instead of Cheese," or if its because he proves the missing link between the Apple family and the FlimFlam Brothers (who, don't forget, have apple cutie marks and identical coats and manes as Apple Bloom).
