Anyways, one of the questions I've been getting recently is will other Lantern Rings appear. Truth is, the jury's still out on that one, but I do know that this first story will feature only the Black Lantern Corps, with Twilight as the leader.
Speaking of Twilight, I've been developing her Black Lantern persona a bit more. Like I said last time, Twilight, due to her being a virtually unkillable alicorn princess, will be in control of her body, and feel "echos" of her feelings towards her friends and family, like a phantom pain from an amputated limb, but that does not mean she's unaffected by the ring's darkness. Going into further detail, Twilight's Black Lantern is almost like a machine. Cold, unfeeling, merciless, and efficiant. She KNOWS that she cares about her friends and family and loves Flash Sentry, but she doesn't explcitly feel that way. Her magic becomes stronger and darker, on top of the construct and regeneration ablities granted by her ring. Also, she begins to display more violent tendencies towards friend and foe alike, in additon to be somewhat imbalanced. However, despite Twilight's belief that the good pony she once was is still dead, and in her place is a monster from Tartarus, Celestia, Luna, Shining Armor, Cadence, and the remaining members of the Mane 6 still feel that they can save her from her own darkness. Here's an excerpt I plan on using at some point:
Applejack: Twilight, ya have mah word that we won't stop tryin' to save ya from this.
Twilight/Black Lantern: *spreads bone-wings* Then you won't stop failing. Face it, Applejack. Twilight Sparkle is dead. You went to her funeral. All that's left is me. Good-bye. *flies off*
Applejack: *watches Twilight fly off into the night* And Ah won't stop tryin'.
