Primarily, it was that advice to improve was being offered. He took this as trolling or, as Hopelight so aptly puts it, MASSIVE negative feedback. Yes, In Brightest Night, In Darkest Day was bad, but that that was due to an overload of "necessary" information that made the entire story more convoluted than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. It also was entirely all thought out and well written.
Continuing, he kept doing things that, in the end, required brutal honesty. However, he still seems to believe himself to be a great writer.
