Don't read my stuff if you have a weak stomach or are easily bothered by traumatic genitalia damage. That's seriously all I've got in here!

As many of you may already know, Karrie Fisher passed away today after suffering a cardiac incident on a plane. She was only 60. My nerd heart breaks for this news, as this is someone who struggled with disorders, addiction, and more, only to climb out on top in recent years. To have her fall now...well...she deserved better.

What you may not be aware of is the fact that Richard Adams has also died. Hell, few of you may know who he is, but you may have heard of his work. Adams wrote both Watership Down and Plague Dogs, better known as the best ways to traumatize your children in the form of bedtime stories. If you have not read Watership Down, I recommend strongly that you do, or at the very least watch the animated movie. There's a very dear place for this man in my heart, because he very quickly threw off the idea that kids cannot handle the dark stuff. He wrote things that cause nightmares, make you feel, and make you think, and did so as a gift for his daughters. He knew that young minds actually enjoyed hearing about peril and drastic, even terrifying conflict, because then the end really meant something. If you succeeded, the win was that much sweeter. If you failed, it hurt that much more. The stakes mattered, because there was so much to lose, in such horrible ways.

He was 96 years old, but it still saddens me to hear that he's no longer with us. I hope that El-ahrairah came for him, and that he runs with the great rabbit now and always. I will always cherish his stories, and will always admire his willingness to write for children without sugar-coating everything. Rest easy Mr. Adams.

My heart has joined the thousand, for my friend stopped running today.

2016 has been a hard year for people, and a very hard year for me. I sincerely hope next year is a better one for many, me definitely included. Be well.

A shame that these two great people have left us.

I know it happened awhile ago but Patrick Stewart's passing really hit me the hardest.

I will kill you.

I heard about Karrie... May she find peace in The Force.:fluttercry:

And now for our next segment, "Feeling guilty because I lost the ability to feel actual sadness years ago" with our host, Doctorfoxwolf.

It does feel like we when you got to 30+ you start seeing your favorite childhood heroes, musicans, and actors start passing away at an exponential rate. Could be a sobering reminder that you, and the people around you, also have a expiration date.

RIP Richard.

this year was bad by all counts. The new year does not offer much promise as well.

2016 was a shit year in general...I'm hoping things get better

YouTube rewind 2016 is just going to be a macabre list of people who are no longer with us. It's very upsetting. This year was horrible. I truly, truly hope 2017 is better to you, and everyone, for that matter.

RICHARD ADAMS DIED?!?! How am I not aware of this?!?!

I love Watership Down and especially Plague Dogs.

May he rest in peace
