So that was an interesting season finale, seeing the changelings transform into a purified form when they gave their love instead of taking it. Now Thorax rules over the changelings, Chrysalis is in hiding and plotting her revenge, and we'll get to see how things go between the two kingdoms in Season 7! It was also really interesting, seeing the changeling hive and learning of this magic-cancelling throne that protected them until that point.
I know a lot of headcanon was destroyed with both "The Times They Are a Changeling" and "To Where and Back Again," meaning a lot of authors on here have been scrambling to either edit their stories to attempt to be canon OR are sticking "Alternate Universe" on their stories. I thought that changelings were an interesting aspect of My Little Pony, but I never would have attempted to write any kind of story about them when there was so much that was still unknown until this season. My heart goes out to the authors here who tried so hard to make their stories fit somehow into canon, and just had it go to crap with even just Thorax's introduction as the only nice changeling.
With this new change, though, comes opportunities to explore; what will the changelings do now that they're free from their previously endless need for love? How will they interact with other ponies? What sort of culture did they have before, what kinds of changes will need to be made now?
I know I'm looking forward to seeing what Season 7 brings, and I'll be very interested to see how the authors on this site work with this new change to their favorite bug-ponies.

Oh, well. I'm sure there is more interesting stuff to come.
