"100 followers milestone" blog: how I became a brony, and my plans for "Fallout: Equestria Girls" and other stories · 2:29pm Sep 21st, 2016
To my great amazement, I have reached and surpassed the 100 followers milestone. Everyone who followed me for whatever reason: thank you very much! 
I hope I will be able to deliver more enjoyable content for you in the future.
Now that I have that many followers, I have decided to unveil a small mystery: how I became a brony in first place. I haven't talked about this here, AFAIK, so I don't think I'll repeat myself.
That happened in February 2015. I was about to graduate from university, and the exam session has only recently finished, which meant I was still feeling stress from the exams. But I also had to work on my thesis, and prepare for what we call "state exams" (finals, to put it simply). I always took my academic record seriously, so I set to work very soon after the session ended. I also keep myself abreast of politics, and back then the political situation was not good - Russia was receiving flak for this and that, which naturally pissed me off. Suffice to say, that did not improve my mood. I'm not sure I had depression, but my mood was certainly down.
I was a big fan of Mass Effect universe, and browsed the group dedicated to the game on VK.com (Russian social network, an analogue of Facebook) regularly for fan-art. Given that MLP:FiM happened to be very crossoverable, I encountered crossovers with Mass Effect as well, fairly regularly. And almost each and every MLP/ME crossover art had flame wars between bronies and haters in comment section. As for me, I joined neither side. I simply found these crossovers hilarious and copied them into my personal collection.
Truth be told, I am not a fan of Western animation. Many cartoons that I had seen either do not click with me or outright conflict with my view on what cartoons are supposed to be like, so when I first heard of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I thought it was just another silly cartoon. But I have found unexpectedly many defenders of MLP, and in February 2015, I finally decided to see what all the fuss is about. That's when I learned of brony fandom, and while its certain segments... were not in line with my own views, I decided that the only way to decide the quality of the series was to see them for myself. So I got my hands on then-existing four seasons plus first Equestria Girls, and watched the first pilot episode.
"Huh," I thought, "looks nice, actually. Think I can watch the second one."
I watched the second one... "Hmm, not bad. Let's see how it goes on."
I watched the next episode, then next, and next... and several hours later, I found out that it's past 2 a.m. in the night, I am watching the tenth or eleventh episode and don't want to stop.
"That's it," I understood then. "I am hooked."
Pretty soon, I got swept up by the creativity of this fandom and joined FIMFiction.net, where after some time I posted my first story, Fallout: Equestria Girls...
Well, yeah, that's it. It's highly unlikely I'll leave the fandom soon, there are still ideas running around in my head, even though the show might end soon, after the My Little Pony Movie.
My short-term plans are as follows:
1) Chapter 34 of Fallout: Equestria Girls is slowly being written as I carefully plan the threads of both main and secondary plotlines and how to introduce them in the beginning of the Western Wastelands arc. I am also thinking of introducing new characters to the story. Without giving away critical info, I can promise that you will see Trixie, Garble, and Tender Taps (damn that character is cool, and I've also become a TenderBloom shipper, so... who knows what you will see? 
), as well as several new OCs and some old ones.
2) Love Dashed Into Life is in progress in parallel with Fallout: Equestria Girls, Chapter 3 is outlined and being written, and Chapter 4 is being outlined.
3) Sci-Twi/Flash shipping story is most likely to come out after Legends of Everfree. I don't have much time to work on it along with two others.
As for my long-term plans, I have a plethora of various ideas:
1) If Love Dashed Into Life is even a moderate success, I'll write OC/Humane 7 shipping stories for other characters as well. I've also managed to imagine a story for Fluttershy, so the only one left is Sunset (still not sure if I'll think something for Sci-Twi).
2) I like crossovers a lot, and if I am able to, I thought of writing a crossover between Deus Ex and Equestria Girls. I have several possible beginnings in my head and want to try and get through Human Revlution and Mankind Divided before I start it, though.
3) Another crossover I thought of is a fusion fic between Metal Gear universe and MLP using humanized characters and our real world. However, so far I only played Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and have not tried Phantom Pain yet. Since I do not have a console, I can't get access to non-PC games (unless there are emulators) and I have doubts on getting the feel of the universe right. I did not plan on using any characters from Metal Gear, though, so who knows...
4) My mind has entertained an idea of a fic from Fluttershy's POV as she appears in Chrysalis' timeline from Season 5 finale.

Yeah, I know the feeling. My first contact with the show was with a comic about Doctor Who(oves) on Deviantart. I decided to give the show a try... and before I realized I had watched the first two seasons.

Nice :) I don't want spoilers so that's fine. Just Rainbow, Pinkie, and Fluttershy to go... I think you said before they'd all eventually be making an appearance, so if there's only one slated to turn up in the next arc I have to wonder how long this fic is gonna be. Any idea on how many chapters there will be?

Rule 34 content with ponies and anthros and Rule 63 content (with one exception) do not sit right with me. If I ever read clopfics, it's fully humanized characters or Equestria Girls fics.
I also am a predominantly heterosexual shipper, so it somewhat... irks me that femslash shipping is almost overwhelming in this fandom, if I do not take OC's into account. I don't make tantrums, but if I find a shipfic with heterosexual pairing that is well-written, it almost immediately goes into my private shelves for shipfics... and those do not have that much stories in there.
