I've finished the hero animations for the Earth Pony, Unicorn, Pegasus, Zebra, and Nightwing hero classes. I will likely be tweaking these further by adding more shading texture to the non-Zebra hero images. I might save the shading tweaks until after playtesting begins—I haven't quiet decided yet.

Frames
00–01: standing and idling
02–07: six-frame walk cycle (in order)
08–12: death (in order, then repeat frame 11)
13–15: attack (in order)
16–17: opening/manipulating (16, 17, 16)
* 18 *: levitating
19–20: reading a magic scroll
All of this was done by hoof (the sprites are 100% my design).
Next up is drawing identical versions of each of these frames (except the death ones) with the heroes wearing different kinds of barding, then custom pony-based monster sprites. The monsters will be easy to do by comparison, and existing game background sprites and custom obstacle sprites won't need to be changed, so I'm probably about halfway through the amount of work I'll need to do for the graphical elements.
The game redesign work should be comparatively simple, as I already have hashed out what I plan to modify (although some of the modifications will be extensive). I plan to release the game for playtesting in a month or two, and I'll submit it to Android store soon afterwards.

I've already gone back and added shading, and am working on the armor sprites now (which is another 560 pony images).
