Substitute - The critical point · 12:18pm Sep 6th, 2016

Well, I'm reaching the later stages of the story now. Drafting is going very well but as many of you can imagine with a story such as this, there are many particulars to consider when even writing one scene. Have to make sure all the puzzle pieces are shaped the right way, after all. I would attribute that as one of the reasons why I don't write as fast as many others on the site.

But it is with any story, there will be some scenes that are simply easier to write than others. Scenes that only need lead toward a general conclusion are nice, here. Scenes that must go through multiple steps, on the other hoof, are much more difficult. It's usually the latter that can really make or break a story.

And, as such, I've reached the scene in the story which I would easily call the critical point. There have been many difficult scenes to write in this story but this scene that I am about to undertake is the single most difficult scene in the entire story. I can't go into specifics on what transpires during this scene but there are a few reasons why it is difficult: it is a culmination of what's come before, it's a return of things iconic, and it's going to set the tone of the story through the ending.

And if I can get this scene just right, everything from then on will be smooth sailing. I will have unobstructed vision through to the end of Substitute.

And I can't wait to share it with all of you.
