Suggestions for Halloween episode of Starlight Over Detrot from our readers? · 9:19pm Sep 13th, 2012
Hey, readers... okay, I'm going to toss this out there to you because I really want your input on this one. I'm going to do a non-cannon one shot for Halloween in the Starlight Over Detrot universe.
I want to know what you want that to be about. I can make it about our main cast, secondary characters, history of Detrot, or anything of the sort. I'm open to any suggestion. We can make it cute, scary, violent, romantic, bizarre, or just funny. Some mix of all of those things. Any thoughts you have at all, please leave in the comment section or if you're feeling bashful you can send us a PM.
I'll dig through the thoughts that come in and see if one inspires me. Your help will be enormously appreciated and even if your idea doesn't get picked for this one-off, don't let that discourage you from sending them! We may use them in the future.

Probably from the past, either of the main story cast or the history of Detrot. Perhaps something involving party cannons?
Well there is the luna eclipsed episode, if i was gonna start with any inspiration for a Halloween special I'd start with that.

As for my suggestions um how about hunting down a killer who preys on those who give trick or treaters sweets?
or Trick or treaters tricking hard boiled, i'd love to see a scene focusing on that, with Taxi masterminding the whole thing and then it runs out of control for some reason and the trick or treaters go too far. then er something.
or um. stuff.
While the History and Founding of Detrot is a story that desperately needs telling, I think that perhaps some of Hardy's earlier days working the beat, involving Ponyville residents who came to visit relatives on Nightmare Night is what's in store! That has Gourmet recipe for Shenanigans written all over it.
Something from Hard Boiled's childhood, preferably with him acting uncharacteristically adorable.

Don't worry. If I do a one-shot, there will be more Starlight soon after. I'm trying to work a bit ahead. By then, with any luck, I should be two weeks ahead and we won't interrupt our normal release schedule.

357052 Ponyville Residents is tough, largely because they're all either old or aging badly by the time Hardy was born. If we assume Twilight Sparkle was 20 during the show, she's 50 when Hardy is born. Keep in mind, Luna's Return was 60 years ago. These are not young ponies anymore, still alive or not.
Don't worry about the history and founding of Detrot...heh. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is ONLY the beginning.

As for ideas, the Hardy and Taxi foal bit sounds fun but alas I fell in love with Swift so I demand her in this story.
Perhaps get Taxi and Swift to play a huge prank on Hardy?
The very minimum in this short is you have to at least get them all in costumes. Especially Hardy. Make him lose a bet or something and put him in something unbelievably funny. Like a pink Tutu. Ha. Or make he dress as a taxi cab and get Taxi to ride him. (No sex joke intended)
Or you can do something Swift orientated. Like have her get drunk! Oh God! Perfect idea!
GET THE MAIN CAST DRUNK!!!

Oh whoops. Perhaps I should have clarified.
I didn't mean the Show's cast (Mane6, CMC, et al), I meant people from outside of Detrot and the big city life visiting and being a complete unknown in the scene. The kind that are easy to take for a ride or walk right on past the unwritten ritual and protocol that comes with the territory. Naive Wild cards in Detrot's grand societal game, even more so than poor Swift.
359706 It's a worthwhile thought. The larger cities of Equestria have decayed, though few as badly as Detrot. It's a wilder world though and there are many more things in it than during Twilight Sparkle's time. Not unlike our world, really.
