Thanks to everyone who helped me out, really and truly, I appreciate it. I'm set for the month going onward into 2024. I lost my old home, but I closed a toxic chapter of my life and started a new one.

    Finally An Apartment

Thanks to everyone of my friends help, their support, among other things, I was quick with being able to find an apartment for myself. I got extremely lucky finding a place the same day I got evicted, and was able to get things situated.

    I Need Help - Emergency

So to put it simply, I need help. Some things had been hidden from me until the very last moment, and at 5 pm on December 4th, I will be homeless unless I figure something out living situation-wise. Unfortunately, I have no way of fighting what is coming and have to resort to desperate measures, and that means swallowing my pride and asking for help.

    Story updates: Hiatuses

So as a lot of you know, I have quite a few stories under my belt, some of which are stuck in the incomplete stage and haven't been touched since Faust was in charge of G4. Naturally, this is due to a lot of things, mostly inconsistencies with my writing style evolving over time, work and stress irl, depression, and other factors that have otherwise hindered my writing.

The Utter Bullshit that is Youtube's ToS · 11:10am Sep 3rd, 2016

So... I've been seeing #YoutubeIsOverParty trending on Twitter... and after a bit of research, I saw these.

YouTube Says No to Sexual Humor, Profanity, Partial Nudity, Political Conflict, and 'Sensitive Subjects' In Partner Content

What Gamers Stand to Lose with YouTube's New Terms of Service

Youtube's Updated Terms and Policies
I'm well aware these were already there, but now they're reinforcing them and screwing a lot of people over.

YouTube's "ad-friendly" content policy may push one of its biggest stars off the website

This... this angers me, this is straight up censorship of the douchy-ist caliber!

Content that is considered "not advertiser-friendly" includes, but is not limited to:

Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humor
Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism
Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language
Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items
Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown

I can fully understand the one about the Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items but the others are just idiotic! I mean really now, seriously?

They do realize all of this is like... 98 percent of youtube right? A lot of Youtubers swear, and a lot more talk about political conflicts, war, natural disasters. And all that other good stuff... I mean, by doing this, they're making it so that a lot of videos on Youtube can't be monetization, which means that a video that is monetized draws in money for the person who made that video.

If that video has anything that is state above in the new terms, then those videos won't make money. And a lot of youtubers make a living talking about that stuff, like a favorite of mine, Phil DeFranco, he's awesome! And he talks about just about everything, but he's had a plan for this so he's alright, its other Youtubers I'm worried about.

Hell, in a small way I'm affected by this... even though I barely post videos... like at all, but it affects me in that when I do get around to making videos I have to censor them for crying out loud... that's bullshit.

I'm sure some will disagree, but ultimately... this is screwing over a lot of people who rely on Youtube Monetization to fucking live. A lot don't have jobs and rely on Ad Revenue to make it another day, I mean... come on...

This isn't going to stand, slowly but surely they're sneakily taking aay our freedom of speech on Youtube. LeafyisHere and Phil Defranco tell the story of this best, so check out their channels for more information.

I needed to rant, and I am fully bringing this over onto DeviantArt, cause this is bullshit of the highest caliber.

Fuck yeah man, fight for your Freedom of Speech! :flutterrage:

Yeah I can understand that too, but that's why there's an age restriction thing in place, but heck that's not even a big issue if you ask me. Its the fact that many Youtubers are gonna lose money from this, myself included despise the fact I have barely any videos up and I made like one penny in the last seven months...

I want that penny Reader... I want that penny.

YouTube is my life man, at least I want to be anyway, and this censorship thing won't last long. A lot of people are flipping out over this ,including big Youtubers like PhillyD, one of my favorite YTer's

Those who do not learn from the past, are doomed to repeat it...

I don't remember who says that but this pretty much sums this baloney. I want to go to them and whack their heads with a metaphorical hammer because this is ridiculous... :facehoof:

4189108
Same here man, its ridiculous, and they're seriously trying to make people censor their vids. At least that's what I'm getting from all of this bullshit.

4189109
None of the youtubers are quitting or anythig, as far as I know. They just have to censor certain things in their videos... which, I must say, is much much bullshit. Hell, they're taking ads off of some videos with a bit of swearing in them, yet a CNN video with a bloody child in it who lost his home to a terrorist bomb still has ads, so wtf Youtube?

I'm still gonna stay on YT, cause they can't take my fav Youtubers away, I mean... come on, what else am I gonna do with my life? Screaming out Shit and Damn it while playing a violent game with blood and bouncy tits is my dream job :rainbowlaugh:

I agree with the opinion you have.

4189131
Its ridiculous that they're doing this, I mean... I fully understand its well within their rights, their rules and their site and all that. But its concerning, because by taking away Monetization, that can be considered a form of censorship... which, is not cool :pinkiesick:

4189129 I don't really understand much but I can tell that this is just going to get downhill faster than I can say "What could possibly go wrong?" A picture and words appear that say Dokapon Kingdom got a sequel on the DS... Oh sweet mother of mercy above, I didn't even want to remember that game! :raritydespair:

Also that comment towards MrReader regarding what you gonna do with your life. That sounds like something Deadpool would enjoy :rainbowkiss:

What are they thinking with this? I mean this has to to be one of thier more poorly thought out moves in while. I just can't see them sticking with this.

4189158 I'm not the only who would think of that right? I mean it makes too much sense! :rainbowlaugh:

4189136
Exactly man, legitness, haha.
Yeah, a few have left I've heard, but I have no idea who though.

Bullshit indeed -_-

4189147
Essentially, cussing, vulgarity, partial nudity (like shirtless dude or in a bikini) anything contriversal or sensitive (politics, or anything news basically) is a big no no and you won't get paid if its in your videos on Youtube, which is basically what 98 percent of youtube is nowadays.

4189155
Yeah it is, but I can understand, its their wenbsite they can do whatever... but the entire thing is ridiculous. :pinkiesick:

4189167 I was rather (I am terrible at jokes) joking at that. I completely understood what it meant and I will repeat what I said before, this is ridiculous :facehoof: Also, I think 99.9% makes more sense to me honestly...

4189169 Oh... well I feel dumb :raritydespair: the DS joke was funny, I guess I misread the thing.
Regardless, you're right, 99.9%, hehehe.
In a way, Youtube is fucking themselves over, cause without Youtubers, they lose money :P

4189181
Some news I watch, which is PhillyD because he doesn't censor anything, or water it down as he puts it in his video.
Money money money... hate it, but you need it. Need money to get a vehicle, which you need to get a job and to eat, which you need to get to with a vehicle, which requires money, which requires a job.

A vicious circle of life.

Dayum, YouTube is gonna get screwed over big time!

Many ancient empires in the past thrived until they grew intolerant of differing religions, cultures, lifestyles, or other things. Afterwards, they tended to either fall quickly from revolts, or they managed to suppress revolts at the cost of becoming brutal, restricted countries.

Similarly, YouTube is doomed if it does not repeal this bullshit. People have the right to talk about whatever they wish to; controversial subjects, despite our personal opinions, SHOULD be debated online no matter how uneasy they make some feel. As Evelyn Hall wrote of Voltaire's philosophy, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

While YouTube does own its site and can do whatever it want, this move is absurd and goes to show what happens when stupid people control powerful institutions. They could either fall apart, or, if not, become a very restricted environment with few productive contributors, as many would move to either sites.

I hate to say I was already aware of this. And by the looks of it, there's only a few options available:

1. Everyone (or lots of people) quits YouTube. This is impossible, because like you said, lots of people rely on it to fucking SURVIVE. Of course, they could move on to another video-sharing site, but honestly, all the ones that currently exist are crap, and there's no way they can compete directly with YouTube, nor can any site someone starts up.

2. Petition or something. That won't work. Sure, petitions sometimes work, but other times they do jack shit. YouTube, unfortunately, is the type of site that would ignore petitions, based on their track record.

3. Just stay and wait for things to happen. Honestly, that's the only thing people can do, realistically. See, when YouTube is as big of a monopoly as it is, they can enforce tons of shit guidelines, fucking people over, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it.

Well, maybe there's a fourth option...

4. When uploading videos, people just don't put the tags on them that will get noticed (you know what kinds I'm talking about). The YouTuber MrRepzion made a video about this, where he's been losing money just because of the tags, and he says he will no longer put those tags in his videos because YouTube's system is automated. If I had an active YouTube channel, I'd probably test that (two identical videos, one with the tag, one without, and see how it plays out). (I should probably do something on it, seeing as I'm a college student, and college students have no money.)

Unfortunately, that's about the only thing anyone can do. Though I'd recommend seeing TheMysteriousMrEnter's video about it. He seems smart enough to get it.

God...I'm sick and tired of our freedoms getting taken away, one by one. But hey, at least I can vote now, right?...oh, my god...

4189280 That is all true, this is an incredibly dumb move on their part, as I've said multilple times, they're the ones that lost out the most. WIthout the Youtubers making all of these videos, Let's Players, Vloggers and so on, they lose out on money generated by the people who watch those videos and and what not. Youtubers lose money as well, but most have a back up plan in case something like this does happen.

This kinda crap needs to be put in the dumpster and never brought out again, we all have the right to say whatever the hell we want online, in videos, blogs, it doesn't matter. We shouldn't have to censor ourselves because of it. I mean, videos are not being taken down or anything, but any video with any of the above mentioned content will not make any money.

That sucks a lot.

4189283

I've seen that some people have considered moving to DailyMotion and some other video website I can't remember, and yeah it won't work because Youtube is one of a kind because of the community and how it works. None of the other websites act like it does, and I've also heard those sites are pretty shitty so... I wouldn't move, I'm still sticking to Youtube no matter what.

Petitions do tend to work, but I'm figuring Youtube wouldn't give two damns if a billion of us made and signed one, they would still ignore it because they clearly don't care. But, again, its their website and they can do whatever they want, its their right to do so, even if most of us disagree with it to a massive degree.

Waiting is really all we can do, and I can only hope this kind of crap gets thrown out into the street and shot dead. Because I mean, really... this is utter bullshit man, complete bullshit. I reserve the right to free and vulgar speech in my videos man :flutterrage: If I wanna say buttcheese mcfuckbags, you can bet your sweet ass I'm gonna!

The fourth option... hmm... no tags you say? Someone should do a test, I am geniually curious to see what the outcome would be.

Trust me man, I'm sick of it too... won't be long until someone starts doing something to all of our precious fanfiction websites. Jeez! I can see it now...

Censoring fanfictions... uggghh...

4189371
Get triggered m8! :pinkiecrazy:

This is stupid. Even if they had a heads-up ahead of time before these new ToS went into effect. Hell, did it have a notice before this happened? But the people saying this is the end of YouTube. Probably not as predicted, just another prologue in YouTube's troublesome history. Where YouTube is causing their own strife.

These ToS seem to encourage safe spaces and political correctness as a caveat for monetizing privileges. Very damn stupid.

"Controversial or sensitive subjects and events"

The hell you can try to censor discussion of this, YT. The news on T.V. does this daily! This it the Internet, not so good luck with that.

Well, guess people shouldn't rely on YouTube as their only way to make money now, huh? Thanks Google!

(Note: I am only a average user of YouTube who watches videos and comments. Not uploading own videos.)

nooooooooooooooooooooo! my shows!

4189443
Actually, no... no one got any notic of this happening at all! The one stupid thing I noticed, was that many youtubers were slowly, but surely.. over the course of a few months had their videos one by one demonetized by Youtube for the content described above. They were given no warning... at all... none.

Yeah, you can't censor the internet... its... the internet for crying out loud, that's idiotic, and foolhardy at best.

Same, I'm a very constant user but i hardly upload myself.

4189450
ALl of the troll videos and memes! :raritycry:

4189518
No notices that this would occur? Someone dun messed up then. Now the YouTubers pay the price for it.

4189768
From what I heard it was intentional, no one messed up :facehoof:

4191072
Well the corporations gonna learn how it can be a mistake then. Just wait. :pinkiecrazy:

4191158
They will... soon... berry soon...
