No updates for more than a year, oh my...

    Erm... I live?

    *sees glares*

    OK, I am sorry. Really.

    So here is the stuff:

    1) I have found to my displeasure that I need to go back to drawing board for the Western Wastelands arc in the "Fallout: Equestria Girls" story. I can churn out a chapter or two without doing that, and then I will have to rethink a number of things.

Going on a vacation for 2 weeks

Internet reception is not likely to be good, so I am basically offline; if I do happen to come around, it's not for long.

Sorry everyone, was not able to update anything in time.

    Whelp

I haven't seen "Forgotten Friendship" in full yet, but from what bits I saw on YouTube, my own headcanon got screwed (namely, that Sunset never got back to Equestria and never saw Princess Twilight and Princess Celestia until the events of Fallout: Equestria Girls).

Expect some retcon. There won't be much, but Chapter 31 at least will have to be re-written a bit.

Legends of Everfree and Fallout: Equestria Girls: how they interact? · 8:31pm Aug 17th, 2016

I promised to make a blog about the upcoming Legends of Everfree movie and how the media we have now influences it.

Spoilers below the break, be warned.

OK, let us look at the trailer first:

My thoughts:

-Gloriosa Daisy:
For some reason, I can't help but be reminded of Tree Hugger, except without dreadlocks in hair and slurred drug-induced speech. (Come on, you know that hippies used to do drugs. Still do, maybe.)

As for what role she can play in the story - the possibilities are numerous, and I really need to see the movie first. I cannot see her as a soldier in war, but being that active in combat after the apocalypse is not outside the realm of possibility.

-Everfree Forest:
I had not made any plans as for where it is relative to CHS, and boy - am I glad I didn't! If the movie doesn't tell, it means I have freedom to put it wherever I need to, if it does - fine by me, I try to avoid canon contradictions like plague.

The info we're given about Everfree Forest has also allowed me to create more detailed plans for it, but those are linked with plot branches that are classed as big freaking spoilers, so I'm not saying anything here. I still have to see the movie first. But the possibility of my new ideas being ruined is low. *spits and taps the wood*

-Gaia Everfree:
I literally cannot say how she may influence the story until I see the movie. End of story.

As for her design - holy blithering shit, guys, that's some Nightmare Fuel for kids. How the hell can they get that past TV-Y rating? (Then again, they got Midnight Sparkle past TV-Y in Friendship Games, so I won't question it.)

-"Freaky-deaky!" - Pinkie Pie
Pinkie-isms always make my inner linguist happy :pinkiehappy:

-Magic:
Aaaaand there's the goddamn spanner in the works. Fallout: Equestria Girls was built on the premise that Humane 7 never managed to gain magical abilities. Never say "never", because scriptwriters will go and ruin it.

Fortunately, I have made a workaround as to why those of Humane 7 who are already together with Princess Twilight cannot use their abilities currently. But the whole interaction of magic and human world may end up totally rehashed, depending on the movie. On the other side, this did give me extra ideas on Everfree forest.

Sneak Peek #1!

-Sci-Twi having nightmares:
That actually is realistic enough, IMNSHO. Seriously, how did Sunset just up and bounce back? Heresy. (Or they just didn't show us. Still heresy.)

Maybe I'll have a repeat of that. And Princess Twilight's definitely gonna have more nightmares in Fallout: Equestria Girls.

And... sleeping with hair in a pony tail? Wut? :ajbemused: Heresy.

-Midnight Sparkle:
I suspect some fanservice took place here, but I'm not complaining. They did promise us the return of Midnight Sparkle, and it seems they're keeping it *spits and taps at wood*.

Wait, Sci-Twi's friends disintegrating? What the... oh, it's a nightmare. Well, looks fun.

Midnight Sparkle is definitely gonna play a role in Fallout: Equestria Girls, but the extent of her role is spoilers.

Sneak Peek #2!

Honestly, it does not influence the plot of my story much. The only thing I can pick out of that is Pinkie's marshmallow pillow. Hee-hee-hee.

Sneak Peek #3!

-Applejack roughing it:
Hmmm, I think I should refresh what I know of wilderness survival skills, since Applejack seems to know those. May serve well for the plot.

-Rarity's luggage:
Ugh, Rarity, really?! :facehoof: I pity the guy who becomes her boyfriend - no human back can deal with that much luggage.

Sorry. This moment is irrelevant to Fallout: Equestria Girls, since Rarity has learned to travel light by the time the story happens, but I couldn't resist this jab at the marshmallow pony human.

-Pinkie's "two demon friends" remark:
Tactful as ever, Pinkie. Maybe I can have some nightmare for Sunset. Sci-Twi is not due to play a part in my story in a long time. Or... something else. *grins evilly*

-Flash's "level 1 pickup master" moment:
Goddamnit, now they made him a bumbling fool. It's kinda justified, with the whole "two Twilights" mess, but... :facehoof:

That, combined with Sci-Twi's facial expression and Sunset's later comment kinda not reassures me. I have managed to get a PDF of Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise, and it says that Flash actually was interested in Sci-Twi as well, and not just because she resembled Princess Twilight. I know that books are not really canon, but as far as I understood, this book is a "missing link" type of story, and I hate contradictions.

Also, why Sunset said Flash had a thing for Princess Twilight? Pleeeease don't tell me they leave it up to fanfic writers again... *spits and taps wood* Screw this, I still ship TwiFlash and Sci-Twi/Flash.

-Rock quarry:
I should totally make something happen there in my story, but have no idea what.

Sneak Peek #4!

-Timber Spruce:
Heh, looks like a nice character and all, if a bit of a poser and - wait a goddamn minute, did he just smile at Sci-Twi and make her blush?

...He totally did.

Well, my Sci-Twi/Flash ship just ate a big torpedo, now I have to go and fix it.

Yeah, that's why I'm stepping up my game with OC/Rainbow Dash shipfic, which is intended as my first shipfic experiment, and then finish the Sci-Twi/Flash fic I promised before the movie comes out, even if it costs me the speed of updates of.

(I'm kinda surprised I didn't see that much "WAIFU THIEF!" reactions to this sudden ship. Then again, I didn't look actively. I don't really like shipping wars.)

Truth be told, I'm not actually against this ship - for me, there are too few characters I can ship comfortably with Twilight, pony or human - especially since Timber seems to be not just a boaster, but also a rather intelligent guy. What's the tension between him and Gloriosa, though? :applejackunsure:

I think that the guy is definitely worth adding to Fallout: Equestria Girls. Gotta think of his role, though. And see the movie.

...his pickup lines, though, are really cheesy.

My brain: Said the guy who doesn't have much experience in relationships.

Me: Shut the fuck up, brain.

-Derpy's straight eyes:
HERESY!

...Just kidding. Couldn't resist. :derpytongue2:

-Fluttershy and Vinyl in Amethyst tent:
Ha-ha-ha, bet you that someone will make a shipfic based on this! :rainbowlaugh:

Not me, though. Don't ask.

-Girls shipping Sci-Twi and Timber Spruce:
Welp. Another torpedo. *went to fix Sci-Twi/Flash ship again, mutters angrily* Traitors.

Joking. The moment is cute, and Applejack's voice is chuckle-worthy. But I'm so gonna sting them back for it...

Sneak Peek #5!

-Filthy Rich:
A rare case when my plans actually got supported by what I saw. No spoilers.

...speaking of which, there's a reason we didn't see Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Although, we also didn't see the CMC, so maybe this camp is just not for kids.

-Sunset making a spooky face:
:rainbowlaugh: That face is stupid. Funny as hell, but stupid. *raises anti-hate shields*

-Sunset teasing Sci-Twi on Timber:
*BOOM*

Stop torpedoing my ship already! :twilightangry2:

-Spike giving Sci-Twi's nightmares away:
:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

Maybe I can arrange another moment like that.

OK, that's my comments. Your turn

you know, you could just take the lazy route and not incorporate the movie into it. Just saying.

I like foxy big sister Sunset. Also, I pity the boy or girl that becomes Rarity's significant other. Hey, are you gonna go Fallout 2 on Sci-twi when she's in?

4155129

I don't really like that route. If I take it, it's gonna be the last option.

4155323

Hey, are you gonna go Fallout 2 on Sci-twi when she's in?

Didn't play Fallout 2 so I don't really get what you mean, sorry.

4155827 alright then. but your ship will sink.

Well, I'll give you the same advice as I did before Friendship Games came: It's okay to ignore official canon if that alters too much of your original plans. you did added some FG in your story despite being around BEFORE FG. Sugar Coat and Lemon Zest were nice additions to the cast, plus the presence of human Twilight seems to build-up something, and you're very comfortable with it and the story didn't feel forcibly altered. BUT, if it DOES alter your original ideas: ignore them. Ad something from Legend of the Everfree if they don't, but ignoring official canon is safer than forcibly adapting. Your story will suffer from it

but your ship will sink

Don't think I didn't see your little tidbit, kekeke :trollestia: Small font size won't save you.

My Harry/Hermione ship did not sink even when CANON-class torpedo hit it. Don't underestimate the power of the Ship Side. :pinkiecrazy:

In any event, I need to live until October 1st and then get my hands onto the movie somehow. And then I'll see.
