Bronycon: Day 0 (Last update!) · 5:21pm Jul 7th, 2016
Afternoon, folks!
So, after getting up at God's Forsaken Hour in the morning to make my flight, I'm now in Baltimore! I've checked in at my hotel and already gotten my convention reservation stuff as well. I also got crammed into an elevator with about ten other convention goers, and one of them took note of my FimFiction hat. The main reason that this interaction stands out is that as I stepped out of the elevator, I believe he made a joke at my expense. Poor form, guys, poor form. We are better than that.
Now, that being said, I am totally going to take a nap for an hour or two, then hammer out the last bits that are necessary for the next Mente Materia chapter. It is my (possibly futile) hope that I can get it published by tomorrow, then I can crank out the last chapter in this plot arc by the end of the weekend. If I can manage this, everyone please give thanks to the editing team as they're the miracle workers that make my stuff readable on such short notice.
I would also be in remiss if I didn't ask if anyone else is attending Bronycon! I certainly appreciate company, and wouldn't say no to folks tagging along when going out to eat (I also wouldn't turn down an invite to join other folks unless I have other plans). Later this evening, I was actually planning on moseying over to the Bubba Gump Fish Co restaurant on the harbor, as that was the first place I ate at last year.
And on another note: I did splurge a bit and got myself a rather high tier convention pass, but I've encountered a small problem. Specifically, I never wrote down all of the benefits that come with it. I've already gotten the swag bag with the T-Shirts, posters and things, but I -know- there's stuff I can do at the con with my level of ticket that I just can't remember. Unfortunately, since all of the tickets sold out, Bronycon is only showing the standard tickets.
Does anyone have the ticket perk info? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: I'll be wandering about with a light blue Fimfiction cap and a purple Twilight Sparkle tie, so I should be easy to identify if you see me!
Also, I'm currently going through the convention schedule and planning things, I'll be updating this blog with my tentative plans as I go down the schedule.
SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY:
Before 2:00 PM:
I'll be hitting the merch hall for arts, ties, and possibly another Twilight Flopple plushie. I -might- also see about getting a really nice bit of Twilight art and spending the next several hours waiting to get an autograph from Tara Strong (who's apparently going to be about in the late morning/early afternoon.
2:00 PM:
The Crossovers Panel - In which everyone tries not to ask when the next TSC update is. >_> Seriously though, come to this! I'm a panelist!
3:00-6:30PM:
Open time! I'll probably be lurking in the Quills and Sofas. If not, I may have shuffled back to my hotel room to take a nap.
6:30PM: Advanced Writing Panel!
7:30PM-Onward:
I don't know how much I'm going to be able to do as the night progresses, as fatigue gets worse through the day. I might just take it easy at the Quills and Sofas, or I might call it an early night. It's a shame, since I would have loved to gone to the Head to Headcanon panel at zero dark thirty. :|
Last Edit: Met a bunch of other authors at registration and spent some time talking. Also went out eat at the Bubba Gump fish co, had a mildly disappointing fried fish sandwich. :( After that, we all played a bit of Twilight's Secret Shipfic but I had to bow out early due to being totally wiped out. It's a fun game, but I don't like that a card's interpretation can result in different outcomes. All in all, it didn't feel good to end the night on that note but it was either that or fall asleep in someone else's hotel room.
Keeping fingers crossed that I'll feel better tomorrow.

Wish I could be there to say hey... on a vacation this week, but only have the moolah to stay home here in Georgia. Enjoy the convention, and I look forward to the next chapter to edit.
Arrrg, I'm so annoyed. Thought BC was still weeks out and booked my weekend away...
Sad part of living in Scotland. Will probably never get to attend any of these conventions or ever meet half you guys
