WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?
I don't know what I did for this to happen. It hasn't even had that many viewers yet! But really, for everyone who has read it and enjoyed it so far, thank you soooo much! I'll also be posting it into the relevant groups later tonight! I'm just going out for a bit first. 
I had some thoughts to share on how I intended for this story to go when I first thought of it, so this seems like a good time. I wanted to write this as a gift when I saw that my good friend Will-Owl-the-Wisp's birthday was coming up, and what better setting for a birthday story than a birthday party? And what better characters of Wisp's than Misty Moonrise and Steel Shield? As soon as I conceived of the story idea as a whole, I knew it would be them as foals, with Misty uncomfortable at a party and Steel cheering Misty up with a gift at the end.
However, when I first imagined the idea, I intended to have a happier ending, one where Steel and Misty would have their own private party after the "real" festivities were over. Steel would give Misty her gift, she'd open it, love it, exchange a few happy words, the end. If you've read the story, that is obviously not how things turned out. The ending I, well, ended up with is much more bittersweet. But I think it fits the story as a whole as it is a more fitting end for Misty as a character. It fits the relationship that Misty has with her parents, it explores how she feels and how well she fits in when it comes to Brumbyburg society, and it also explores the early friendship that Steel and Misty shared.
Once again, to those of you who have read it and enjoyed it, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to those who have welcomed me back to FIMFiction with such kindness and warmth, I thank you as well. I also thank you for understanding why I had to be away.
As of this very moment, I am working on another of the promised stories from my last blog. I am not sure when the first draft will be complete, but I hope it will be soon. It is something that I felt needed to be said.

Usually, OC stories don't do so well, and groups really do help boost popularity of stories.
