Just like the title said I've been thinking.

I've read several blog posts about authors who think that their stories aren't good, because it doesn't get many reads. BUT, actually their stories are extremely good (in my opinion.)
and sadly I'm in the same shit right now. I like writing stories, but I just started writing stories since May 2012, so I know that my stories aren't really extraordinary good. I see other writers (some who just started writing) getting featured with a clop-fic or a comedy one-shot. BUT that's the easy way to get watchers, likes and favorites and I don't really like the easy way. I want to write looooooooooooooooooooong stories, stories I enjoy writing and stories I take my time for. (I apologize for the lack of updates, but school started.) And yet stupid comedy one-shots and clop-fics of 1500 words, where an author just needed two hours to write it, get featured and I don't like that. But what can you do? ... nothing. Maybe I should also start writing clop-fics and comedy one-shots. Fuck quality!

Too long, didn't read: Motivation is gone. (I'll finish my current my current stories, but after that... I don't know. I'm seriously thinking about suici... retirement.) Show some support, it's really appreciated.

hey man your stories are awesome. heres a bit of advice from a fellow author who started roughly the same time as you. just go through your stories and relax, try and remember what it was that motivated you to begin with it and what should still motivate you to continue. don't be a viewer whore kinda author who writes those shitty one shots and clopfics just to get viewers, because in the end you wont be getting the viewers that appreciate your HARD work and a lot of the time the viewers you get from said crappy clopfics and comedy one shots end up being people like TROLLS and GRAMMAR NAZI'S.

your stories are awesome as of right now im starting to read your second installment of "a new world". I hope you think hard on what it is that motivates you, if all of the motivation for writing is gone then do what you feel is necessary.

338719I agree with Archer. If anything is worth receiving, it's only worth receiving through hard work and determination.

Also, I can't help but see where you said you read blog posts about authors who say their stories aren't very good. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even if you think something is good, doesn't mean the author does as well. Take me for example. My first story I ever wrote, has like 30 faves, so obviously they liked my story. That being said, I find my story to be... not complete crap, but just crappy enough to where I don't think it's going to go anywhere. If the author doesn't like it, they have every right to cancel it. As do you. If you feel like you can't do this, then nobody would blame you. If you need to take a break, fine. If you feel like you should quit forever, fine. Whatever it is that YOU want to do, then that is what matters most.
