    New Chapter This Week

Sorry for the late update, but I'm getting things ready for a move across the country at the end of November. I wasn't too hot on the first draft of the new chapter until I scrapped it completely; now I'm working on a completely new draft and I'm banging out the words. It's a lot more of the type of writing I like doing (action, fighting, describing horrible demonic activity, etc).

    I'm Not Dead

Sorry for the lack of communication, but August is the month I tick one bead closer to the end of my abacus so I was occupied.

There should be a new chapter of Defense tomorrow.

    This 【man】is not your friend.

No new chapter yet, but it should come this week.

In *totally* unrelated news, see this guy?

He is NOT your friend. You should not talk to Him under ANY circumstances, and you should certainly never summon Him.

    we regular updates now

Already done with the *11k word* new chapter of Defense, set to go out tomorrow. It's legitimately the best thing I've written in terms of action and adventure that I've posted on this site, and I've been publishing here since 2011.

Question · 3:23am Jun 12th, 2016

So for whatever reason I started working on this again. Can't say why, but reading some old stories on here brought back the spark a bit.

Question is, is there an audience for stuff that is, as of a few seasons ago, out of canon? Is there a market for stories that turn back the clock as much as some of my unfinished fics do? Would people balk at some of the literary gymnastics I would need to perform to nudge things into the familiar framework of the new seasons?

I mean, I haven't updated Yesterday is Today (what was I thinking with that title?) in almost three full years. What do you guys say? Update some old stuff or binge-watch the last two seasons and come up with something new?

I'm still on board for the old stuff.

I've got stuff from 2012. I'd say post it and mention like written during season 2 or something like that.

I'd say do whatever your muse strikes you for. If the newer seasons don't appeal to you just work on older ideas. I'll read this fic if you update it.

CDR

As the final words escape from your lips, you have a sudden sense of dread. You shrug and move on, for a few minutes, before the sound of screeching tires reach your ears. Soon after one of the nearby walls implodes as a car barrels though it, a human form launching at you from inside of it, the world "iiiYES!!!" ringing in your ears. After the dust settles and your eyes stop spinning, you focus on the demented face inches from your own. "YES" it says, in a tone that speaks on unfathomable want. "Yes" it repeats before jumping away in the direction you assume the car went.

Originally I was gonna' go through the door, but I decided that would take too long.

If your muse has retaken you, I'd say go for it. There are plenty of fics on here that are set season 2 and earlier, throw on an AU tag and you're golden.

Been waiting for an update on this for all this time. Worth keeping the tracker on it!

Time for a re-read - with shipping goggles, of course.

Yes, please!
It is on my fav. list.
Defense in Depth, too. don't jinx don't jinx... :trixieshiftright: Damn, too new. Doh!

As for the some of the new stuff - if you have an idea indulge yourself ;P

If you want to continue this story, please go ahead, I will certainly read. I wish more old stories were updated. Of course there is an audience, more people have written stories set in season 1 or 2 on purpose. As other readers have mentioned, just add a quick clarification on the description and the AU tag, and you are good to go.

I would love to see more of this story.

Heck yes! You could consider it an AU at this point, and there is a huge following for those. Go for it!

Update! It's never too late for the past!

yeah sure.

Go for it! I've always been a big believer in the grandfather clause when it comes to these sorts of things; if we learned the canon information after you published the story, you shouldn't feel obligated to include it.

Well, I only remember the basic details, but I remember enjoying the story. However:
"Would people balk at some of the literary gymnastics I would need to perform to nudge things into the familiar framework of the new seasons?"
There's a good chance I would, yes, but... why would you need to do that? If the story worked, why would getting more information about something else make it not work?

Finished fics > unfinished fics

Don't try and squeeze it into current canon, slap an AU tag on it if it bothers you too much. :B

I think one of mine is proof that people will still enjoy stories that ignore canon after a certain point.
My advice for any story is. Write something you like, and then let others enjoy it if they want.

I would definitely be interested in seeing this story continued. Its premise is something I don't really see used that often. As such, it has a lot of potential to be a great story.

Hey, I remember this story! How time flies by...

pfft screw canon and go for it! (I'm speaking purely out of selfishness here but still)

Never been much for canon after season 2. Go for it!

Super late response, but I would love to see more of this intriguing story.
