A Good Week · 3:37am May 12th, 2016
Not much has been happening, but it's nice to have a calm few days. Just reading and going through to reply to comments and leave some of my own on stories. I seem to be lagging badly on my reading list lately. Ah well, I think it eventually happens to everyone on here.
This week is my down time week, more or less. This Friday seems pretty busy, though in some good ways. Crowscrow's next chapter should be out soon and we are working on it that day. Also working on Luna's Apprentice that day with Slvrtigo. He is hoping to have it out soon and we are just doing some scene alteration work. On Sunday I hope to get Lvl11Bard's Science Trick stories latest chapter edited. Despite not doing much of a strive forward on my own work this week, I am staying busy with many Trixie related developments.
Also planning to do a few tweaks and new scenes for Sitting sometime this week to help tighten it up. I like what I did with the story, but a few things could have been better. Hard to get a year and a half of events in a little over 10k words and not have a disjointed feel to a part or two.
These Mauxie's stories are my first attempts at creating something that skips around over months of time. I've seen it done very well by others, so it's not like I am in the dark over it. Hopefully what I add is entertaining enough for a second read by some of you.
Once that's out of the way, onto the Gryphon Empire chapter. We'll see where I go from there.
I wonder if I should have a standing title for my Mauxie series. I can't just call it 'The Mauxie Series', there's at least one other out there *I dare argue mine to be better, but I have a secret venom towards the writer of that other series. So secret, he does not know of it himself.*. One idea a friend gave was to just add "Stonewalled" to the front of every title and make it the "Stonewalled Series".
Thoughts?
There's nothing wrong with adding the title to the beginning of all your fics. Especially if it's part of a series of stories. I think you should go for it.
Stonewalled works.
There isn't a lot of Trixie/Maude out there and I remember yours being better than at least several of them, so you may be right in your assessment. As long as you don't mean the Damp Rocks comics anyway. Sorry, you're going to have to improve a bit if you plan on dethroning that series. It might not entirely be a fair comparison, though, since they're created in different mediums.
3939311 Pfft, no, I am not arrogant enough to think I have anything on Foudub's comic, though as you said, it's not great to compare between two different mediums.
