Princess Fidelitas/Rainbow Dash and enemies · 8:05am Apr 25th, 2016

For the record about Princess Fidelitas/Princess Rainbow Dash, yes, she DOES tend to make a lot of enemies because as the concept of breaking cycles, MERELY BY EXISTING in a universe she causes any time loop in effect to come CRASHING DOWN around the loopers ears, causing it to come to a close. But for say, events like Majora's Mask, this actually enables Link to beat Majora, and MOVE ON, rather than say beating Majora, watching the credits, and going back to the last save file. She embodies several laws of reality that exist explicitly to break endless cycles and prevent new ones from forming.

As such, while Princess Amicitia/Twilight Sparkle is detested by Rota Fortuna (Alicorn of Fate), for her meddling for creating alternate happy endings for grim dark world-lines, Fidelitas/Rainbow Dash has the OPPOSITE circumstance. Rota Fortuna, is actually MUCH MORE tolerant of Princess Fidelitas, (even if she hates deities of different universes skipping about), even if she doesn't always show, but at the same time, Princess Fidelitas is FEARED and HATED accordingly by those who make use of time loops or where time loops have become a status quo. While the Rota Fortunas of these world lines may outwardly protested Princess Fidelitas, inwardly they do their hardest to turn a blind eye to her, since they acts as a debugging program for lines of fate that have become strung up upon themselves unable to actually move forward. Rota Fortuna can not command or control the Wolf, as the Wolf was created so no deity could control it to prevent abuse, but the Wolf has a habit a habit of focusing on other targets when Princess Fidelitas appears, almost seeming to take its time, but this might be an exaggeration, since the Wolf's entire purpose is to prevent explicit meddlers from outside its native reality.

Rainbow Dash was easily the most fighting oriented of the mane six, even if she was hardly the most powerful, but as a concept of reality, Princess Fidelitas is indeed a warrior, and ironically, whether she likes it or not, she often finds herself working alongside the native Discord (not always), since shattering the status quo fits in Discord's sphere of responsibilities.

The reason for this is practicality. Mortis possesses just raw power since he often has to drag rather strong willed and quite powerful souls that want to resist his death to their final judgment, since his and Strife's children are not always up to the task (Such as when Dark World!Fluttercruel ripped the wings off of the grim reaper thestral that was sent to guide her soul to Tartarus and she just ripped its wings off and fed them to it). Princess Fidelitas has a similar problem, as she often finds herself at odds with beings who have used time loops to gain an insanely illogical amount of skill an power that an always rise higher and higher to whatever is needed to ultimately overwhelm their enemy. As such, Princess Fidelitas as said embodies laws of reality that alter the playing field, such as cutting off the power and experience the opposite had from any loop except the one they're in or their original dry run of the span of time before the loop started, negating their natural advantage, and often leaving them confused and disoriented and in no position to battle a fully awakened Alicorn. There is a reason Princess Fidelitas is both feared and hated in spite of the duty she provides for reality, she represents the end of the power fantasy, the end of the game. Though it is more complicated than that, most hamsters ( Princess Fidelitas' own rather unflattering nickname for them inspired by Apple Pie's pet hamster groundhog, though she often reserves this for ones who seem to actively protect the loops for the the loops sake), 'grow to fit their cages' and are terrified of leaving them.

For this reason, she rather awkwardly can share feelings with Mortis, the Alicorn of Death, who is also often feared and hated for what he has to do in his role of creation, and people are often terrified of what comes beyond what they enact, seeing it as THE END, rather than simply a transition to the next part of the soul's journey. In short, much like Death, Breaking Cycles does not make many friends on the job.

She now also rather awkwardly finds herself in the position of being the mother to Baby Princess Vertias, who she often has to begrudgingly accept is NOT the Nightmare Mirror she knew, nor the Applejack who she saw die in her original timeline. She often leaves her in the care of her remaining friends knowing that she'd be a target for any who'd tried to black mail her or manipulate her... but she is also the goddess of loyalty... and woe be to any who DARE to try and use such tactics.

Princess Fidelitas' role is badass.

Odd, I seem to recall the Blank Wolf obeying Rota Fortuna in Pony POV Princess Twilight's Lightly visits to Grim Worlds.

I don't write all the sections, so it's possible for something contrary to slip by me.

And I imagine RD would thank you on that one.

Time Loops aren't always bad, for example, Pokemon, usually when there's a Time Loop, or rather a Peggy Sue situation, to use the closest term I can think of off the top of my head, usually Cyrus or Gehtsis or another monster wins, so Arceus summons Ash, tells him the usual, and restarts stuff to Set Right What Once Went Wrong. It's a common plot, but I've seen it done entertainingly.

She basically causes it go right the first time around.

Fair enough. Point to you, Mr Warlorn.

>collapses time loops
OH LORDIE she could be the Dieselverse (Tales of Fillydelphia) ' s big bad.
And/or do interesting battle with the Mistress of the Orrery, the Arbitrator Archon. Touched by the Warp between worlds and possessing of infinite power, the lord of a device with an existence spanning reality as we know it, the focal point the infinite multiverse turns upon.

Actually, she's a big good. And a deconstruction of many time loop characters eventually become spoiled brats too scared to face tomorrow.

3908587 Given that the events of the present, up to and including the defeats of the major bads of that universe, the existence of the Elements and causality itself are all dependent upon three separate characters constructing a countless number of loops, she'd be a "Nice Job Breaking It, Hero" flavor of Big Bad.
As in if she closes the loops so they don't occur in the first place, she accidentallys a universe.

3908616

She doesn't do it by ACTION. She does by MERELY EXISTING! She literally has no CHOICE in it happening. She's the CONCEPT of timeloops ending, by that concept itself existence is what causes endless loops to end.

3908632 I get the feeling you're getting angry over literally nothing. Take a deep breath, count to ten, and re-read my statements. I never said that she did it by any action on her part. If its in her nature and she just sort of projects an anti-wibbly-field, that's great and all but has no bearing on what I said.

As in if [by whatever mechanism of hers, be it by action or mere presence through an anti-wibbly-field] she closes the loops so they don't occur in the first place, she accidentallys a universe.

3908645

This isn't about stable causality loops, where time is moving forward at a natural pace. Her function shatters loops when TIME ITSELF isn't moving forward (Groundhog Day), or souls who are doomed to live the same day over and over again.

3908648 Well that's an extremely narrow and not really cogent distinction. If it were by conscious action I'd buy it, but that's not the way natural abilities really work.

3908662

One has time moving forward for a universe or an individual in relation to the universe, the other does not.

3908681 Time doesn't move. It just is as an immutable law of the universe. On a macroscopic scale, as they both involve the universe breaking the rules set forth by Time in the same exact manner, they'd be treated the same.

3908687

I think we're in two different camps here. And it would be prudent to politely bow out before we saw things we would regret.

So..Princess Rainbow Dash + "Infinite Loops"...is not a good thing, or is a very good thing...depending.

MTangalion had fun with that once with Princess Fidelitas saying,
"Here... I found this squirrel of Nyarlathotrot's chewing on the base of your big tree."

I amusingly imagined once that to ween them off being able to know everything that comes next or having a infinite mountain of New Game Pluses at their command, they're put on rogue-like universes, where they CAN'T rely on new-game-plus beef-cake-ness nor pre-determined knowledge to save their butts. And learning to accept you don't know what's going to happen next in life, and that people AREN'T robotically predictable!

3916137

Not to mention the WHOLE POINT of say Undertales Good Ending is that the resets FINALLY END.

3908677
It comes from the line in Mass Effect, that a god isn't an old man with magic powers (which implies someone who only knows religious through Hallmark cards to begin with), "a god would affect the universe simply by existing."

Holy necro. A full year later?
Also, you're still fucking wrong.

I have to wait years sometimes for replies for my messages. And it is my journal entry. And why the hostility? I get that you disagree with me, but there's no need for being nasty about it. Is there anything you want to talk about? Something that's stressing you out but you aren't able to act on and need an outlet for? I'm willing to listen if you need someone to talk to.

Alright then. *hugs*
