    Speed Paintings

It's been a while, huh? I don't really have much to say on my end, but I figured you guys might enjoy seeing some more speed paintings, as LeStrange has been kind enough to produce some more videos of the artwork that will appear in Exchange's book.

    Book Update

Hey there! It's been a while, so I figured I'd make a post just to let you know the project is still moving along. Currently we're waiting on artwork to be completed. There's a good amount of it— 1 cover + 19 interior illustrations— so it'll be a while yet before we reach the finish line. For those interested, you can find a speed paint of Chapter 1's illustration

Hey there, quick question for you guys.

Let's hypothetically say that there'll be a hardcover of Exchange printed which'll include a good amount of interior artwork. Which scenes / events / etc from the story would you like to see illustrated? Please let me know in the comments below, and keep in mind that you don't have to choose just one!

This is a V.I.P. (very important poll) and your response is greatly appreciated!

IMPORTANT UPDATE #1: The cost of the book (including shipping) has been revised down to about $50 with the exception of some potential edge cases. If that influences your decision, please indicate it in a comment below.

    Final Status Update: Stepping Away

First of all, to avoid any confusion, yes, this is one of THOSE posts. If you follow a bunch of people on Fimfic you've more likely than not seen a "leaving the fandom" post every now and then. Well, this one's mine.

Return of the Podcast Thingy · 10:56pm Apr 5th, 2016

EDIT: Podcast over! It was yet another fun time all around. A VOD can be found at https://www.twitch.tv/mikesnipe like usual.

I'll be back on the Good HiE List Podcast this Friday the 8th at 7pm Eastern. This time Flutterpriest will be there, and given our backgrounds I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about. I'm really looking forward to it!

Like last time, the URL is: https://www.twitch.tv/mikesnipe. Feel free to stop by if you feel so inclined.

In other news, I've finally dusted off that manuscript for the followup novella to Pirate Hats. It's sitting at about 60% completion or so and will eventually get finished, but I can't offer a solid ETA as life has been in the habit of throwing curveballs my way lately. I know I've said this before, but this really will be my "last story" (I am retired, after all!) so don't get your hopes up for a comeback. However, the original Pirate Hats is a favorite of mine, and I feel the story I had planned to follow it is something special. If you read and enjoyed the original, I do hope you'll drop by and give the sequel a read when it's ready.

We'll have to see about that. I fully expect this new story to mostly fly under the radar so I doubt it'll garner much attention. On the flip side, I also fully expect that at least one person who reads it will get something positive out of it, so odds are good that it'll serve its purpose.

I really enjoyed Pirate Hats and I'm glad you have at least one more story in you. There are a lot of people here who will eagerly await it.

Looking forward to it, man.
I loved Pirate Hats.

P-Project100? Is that you...? I haven't seen you around in ages!

Yeah, I'm making progress on this story little by little... about a couple hundred words a day or so. It's rough going due to my having completely lost interest in pone a few years back. (Hence my retirement!) Still, I'm working on making it the best it can be if only to quiet the little nagging voice in the back of my head that's saying, "You really should finish that thing...". After this all the original ideas I had for pony will have been exhausted and I can finally recede into the ether(net) and pursue my true calling of being a professional shitposter 24/7. :yay:

I still think about PPPPP sometimes. Such a great concept. Maybe it's been done before; I don't really pay much attention to what's out there. But I really liked your take on it. The rest of your library was impressive too... I hope that whatever you're into nowadays is allowing you to put your talent to good use.

Haunted by similar specters, eh.
No matter what any psych ever tries to sell you, you keep exorcising those inner demons. Pirate Hats stood—and will remain to stand a long time yet, I imagine—as one of my favorite things to come out of this fandom. Blown away by your latest entry entirely though.
How you do it, making things so memorable lacking so much as a single gimmick I'll never know and always admire. There hardly ever comes a point in those stories where your hand shows—a feat that few can boast in my eyes. Despite the sources you're pulling from—and that's honestly the part that's always struck me the most—they feel natural.
You warm a cynic's heart and the pain is great.

And you'll do an amazing job of it, I'm sure.
But really: Whatever retirement holds in store for you, my man—enjoy it dearly and deeply. It is far and beyond well-earned.

Thanks, fam. I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed it. Best of luck to you as well.
