I just typed up a few paragraph long blog post but I was stupid and deleted the wrong tab so I'll summarize here

    1) I didn't know that the passwords are screwed up now, I wasn't here for that, and I don't plan on coming back

    2) I do commissions on DA, see here for more, here's some examples of my original art without bases:

I Am Dumb & I Need Your Help · 4:26pm Mar 6th, 2016

I am planning on doing a YouTube video on an analysis of the Crystal Empire. After briefly watching it yesterday, I realized that it didn't seem like it was 1,000 years old... And if it was, it seemed extremely advanced in its culture, language, architecture. However, I do not know much about this kind of fictional topic. Is it normal for it to be so advanced? I mean, they had glasses, modern foods, instruments, clothing, etc, etc. Before I make a video on this, I want to make sure I'm not being completely stupid. I have a bad habit of assuming, so I just want to make sure that I didn't miss anything important that I'm falsely theorizing about. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

Seems reasonable to me. Maybe all their 'glass' is in fact crystal? Just a thought.

Sounds like an interesting topic. I'll look into it and see what I can find. Could you PM me about when you need it by and if any special details you would want me to check up about? Let me know, please and thank you :coolphoto:

The way I think of it is that pony-kind just hasn't made much technological progress over the last 1000 years.

3794163 Either that, or the CE simply continued to develop while it was "lost." It could be that the CE was sent to a see rate dimension, where time does not pass, ponies do not age, but they are still conscious and advancing as far as tech goes.

Those are all very interesting ideas! Thanks!!

3794183 If you ever need someone to brainstorm topics or talk with during the video - I'm your guy. :rainbowdetermined2:

3794183 *different* dimension. I have no idea how my Spell Check got "see rate":facehoof:

3794214 Ooh! XD I was wondering what that was!

Consider, ancient Greece and Rome were 2,000 years before our time, yet they had glass windows, silverware, doors, and indoor plumbing. The Chinese had gunpowder about the time of the birth of Christ, and had paper, fireworks, porcelain dishware, and sophisticated clockwork machines long before the west did. And the 'unsophisticated' dark ages in Europe? Huge cathedrals with advanced architecture and engineering, and just think of the thousand year old cultures in south America with a calendar more accurate than any up to the modern day! And the Minoans on Crete had working plumbing and flush toilets at the time Moses was living! Heck, the Romans and Greeks had a working steam engine, and a working model of a battery! O_o

So no, a thousand year old civilization being that advanced isn't that much of a stretch. Also, consider the Crystal Empire would immediately open trade with Equestria upon reappearing, bring in the more sophisticated goods from it's southern neighbor, and revrse engineer thier technology to bring their own tech level up to speed.

3794246 That's a lot of good points! Thank you!

Go back and re-read it, I added some more stuff after u read it! XD

They had glass before the fall of the Roman Empire... We are actually just now hitting the same level of advancement now, as we had before Rome fell. And before the flood.
