Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
I've been feeling really unmotivated lately, and I hear that Patreon is a good way to keep you working, because when you churn out product, you get paid for it through internet donations. Is that how it works? If so, is it a good idea? It would certainly give me a good reason to start writing again, especially after my three newest stories crashed and burned so badly. 
What do you guys think? Should I Patreon?

If you want to. This is all up to you. I know that you would let people see things early and all that good stuff, but be warned. It has happened to some people I know on Deviantart that they will have patreons that pay nothing and they still get to see all the bonus stuff.

It is more than likely rare for writers as they normally don't get as many as the previous two, and if it does then they can pick them out right away.

That's a good question. Ask Ocalhoun or Dirty Little Secret. They both have patreon accounts, so ask them how it works, and then decide.

I definitely think you should. I would do it but I only have a small follower group. Though if I got as big as you are I would do it.

I think it's a good idea. However, you must note that you write for the love of the art too. Worst case scenario is writing becomes a chore and something you slog through with difficulties just to meet some stretch goals you set (One story per 48 hours!)
Not to say you shouldn't be rewarded by your followers for your hard work, but I fear your writing quality may not meet it's potential if you begin to dislike writing.
