A New Lyric Story! · 3:55am Feb 18th, 2016
Hello, dear friends!
As the blog title clearly states, I have just finished yet another new Lyric story! I've found that my motivation to write has been high lately, and I am certainly glad for this. After a months-long period where I had little motivation to write - though I was working on other creative projects - it feels wonderful to be back in the swing of things and sending Lyric on her adventures once more.
Now, with this story, I take Lyric back to her roots as a wandering bard. There is no sadness in this story, thank goodness. I know that many of my more recent stories have been a bit emotional in one way or another. But with this one, there is just a bard, a town, and a group of ponies listening to her tale. But what makes this story even more special to me is that the whole idea was given to me by my very special somepony. It truly showed to me the depth of his love for Lyric, and I am honored that he not only wanted to suggest an idea, but also allowed me to use it. So to you, my love, I thank you deeply, and I cannot wait to share with you and the world what it is you inspired. 
What is also wonderful about this story is that it was the easiest story I have written in a long time. By that, I mean that it came together very quickly, and I had very little revising to do on my own. That is not to say that I will not show it to others for their feedback before publishing. I already have a few people in mind. But rather, I did not have to spend as much time nitpicking over the tale myself as I have lately. It all just seemed to fall into place. Even the story description, normally one of the hardest things to come up with for me, was written fairly easily. The only thing that the story is lacking is a name, but that shall be resolved shortly. I am sure of it.*
(*Edit: The story does now have a name! It will be called The Earth Ponies' Specialty.)
Now, when shall I release it? Soon after I have gotten the feedback I need and have a worthy title to match the tale. But in the meantime, here is the story description, and a bit of a teaser as to what it will entail...
While visiting her hometown, a small filly approaches Lyric with a question. Unicorns have their magic and pegasi can fly, but is there anything that makes earth ponies special? Fortunately, Lyric just may have the answer.
