    It's been too long...

Hey there everyone, I know this is probably a surprise after my long, and sudden, hiatus.

So yeah... I'm still here, and I want to apologize for not updating the story in such a long time. I think I said it would only take a week to get out, right? And yet here we are nine months later and I got nothing to show for it.

    A Long Awaited Apology

    Hello my loyal readers!

I wanted to make this small blog to apologize for my tardiness regarding the next chapter of TAOAT. To put it bluntly I've been slowly digging a hole in my life and only recently did I finally get help and manage to drag myself back out. And even then, only about half way.

    A Formal Apology

To those of you who read the previous blog I posted in regards to the most recent chapter, I want to formally apologize for what I wrote. I was angry and frustrated with the way my story, and by extension myself, have been treated. I worded it in a way that put my readers in a negative light, and for that I regret what I have done.

Starting Up Again · 8:23pm Feb 14th, 2016

It's been quite a while since I've been active on this site, and for the time I've been inactive I haven't gotten any writing done. I needed to take control of my life while it was going through a critical phase. That phase is starting to calm down now and I should be able to find free time to do some writing.

Sorry to any and everyone who's been confused of my absence and I promise to try and get back into the swing of things. For the moment I'll leave The Awakening of a Tactician as Hiatus, but if all goes according to plan that should change within a month's time.

Thanks for your patience,
Mountainmanmad

Do what needs to be done. And when you're ready, GET BACK TO IT!:flutterrage: Just kidding. No but seriously, do what you need to.

Take your time, and best of luck for you.

You think we were fretting? Please, a true tactician must know patience.

Glad to hear it. I was starting to worry you wouldn't be coming back to it.

3754231 I will admit that writing is a hobby, and in my case hobbies come and go. However, this story is liked by a lot of people, and I truly enjoy writing it.

There is a minor reason though as to why the next chapter hasn't come out yet. It's actually done (just needs to be edited), but I worry about how readers will react to it. It's a crossover and one that many won't like for obvious reasons. But for story reasons, it's incredibly important for progressing not only the plot, but character development.

I can understand you there. In the end, everyone here is just writing as a hobby, so personal matters can and do get in the way. It's ultimately just internet stories. Still, I'm glad you're still working on it. I'm usually really rather hostile to the whole crossovers deal, but if you've shown one thing with the Applegate crossover, it's that you know how to do them well and have them actually matter, rather than just doing them gratuitously and for their own sake - which is what's really my main problem with them.

Some people may end up being turned off by it anyway, just because of the (honestly normally kinda deserved) reputation those chapter have, but all in all I'd be surprised if it doesn't go down well with people. If even I liked the last one you did, you know you really did a good job of it.
