LTUE Flash-Fiction · 5:20pm Feb 13th, 2016

Right, quick update before I dart off to the conference again for more writing goodness, but I had a brief strike of inspiration yesterday following a panel on—of all things—disease and epidemics. Specifically, there were some laughs surrounding some outright hand-waves concerning a type of disease fiction. This led me to quip a joke to my buddies, which in turn led me to ...

Well, this: A quick flash-fiction I pounded out last night in a short writing stint called Green Apocalypse. It's short, goofy, and you can read it right now on my website. Enjoy.

I really shouldn't be surprised at how good a story you can pump out in a day.

It went exactly where I expected it to go, yet still managed to make me chuckle.

To quote a certain version of Gordon Freeman:

This is a bad experiment! We are bad people! Why did we usher forth the green apocalypse!

And now to actually read the thing.

Wish I could have made it to LTUE. I'm totes jelly.

For some reason this reminds me of the tub scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Something about this connects it with the toaster and White Rabbit.

Just read the flash fic, and it was really fun. There was just the right amount of mystery throughout.

I love the concept it's built around, too. It's one of those ideas a nine-year-old might come up with, expecting it to get shot down because of something too complicated for them to understand, only for one of the adults in the room to go, "Actually, why not?!"

Kudos.

When life gives you green brain and flesh chewing lemons, you use them for power!

Znation had an interesting twist on using zombie power.
Though it was more of rotting compost solution.
