Never let it be said that I act in haste. After 36 weeks and 5 days, I'm finally taking two milestone steps: I'm choosing an avatar and making my very first blog post. Actually, the first event is the occasion for the second. (I'm just brimming with things to say.) I might still have left this blog's virginity intact, but I wanted to credit the work of deviantART's Moonbrony, whose Fluttershy is Awesome! was just too irresistible not to kidnap, crop, and press gang into service as my avatar.
Let's see what excitement I have to report over the next 36 weeks and 5 days.
ADDENDUM, January 7, 2013: My avatar was lacking a little something, namely a background. I remedied that by borrowing a bit of blustery sky from Ponyville, by Hellswolfeh on deviantART.
Better late than never, bud!

Thanks, guy! I was growing tired of that gray, slick-head look.
Oh, and lest I forget, congrats on making the feature box for Changes!
Oh my! You have returned and with such an adorable avatar as well, congrats!
I am also surprised I never got your message before till now (FimFic had this annoying habit of wiping my history after opening my inbox, all content would be deleted...), but good to hear you are polishing your work. As for procrastination... Well, I'm rather guilty of that slothy charge myself though I just happen to have my hands full with balancing my wants and needs vs those of my responsibilities and a hyperactive child at that... Life used to be so much simpler...
If it isn't too much, would it be alright if I take a gander at what gaping holes you're talking about? I haven't pre-read much of anything since TBoTS ch. 14&15. And Follies which took far too much time to polish and edit without removing much of what the author had intended to keep. I still need to edit AJ's arc and eventually release the Twilight and Rarity arcs and finish up with the finicky story there It has it's flaws but I've been far too busy to continue it. Honestly lost interest in it as well.
I digress though haha I think it'd be best imho to just keep trying new ideas until a story clicks with you. We all get that one idea that ends up expanding the more we write, as if it refuses to let go of your fingers till all the nooks and crannies are fully extracted from your mind that could possibly fit into it.
That and I could use a distraction or two.

At this point, the story I referred to as being "full of gaping holes" doesn't need critiquing. What it does need is to be burned to the ground and completely rebuilt with the insurance money. The wreckage requires massive restructuring—which I have yet to work up the enthusiasm for—before it's anywhere near ready to be let out in public again.
However
I do have a 2,800-word fragment of a work in progress that I'd be willing to share with you. Comma-Kazie has been kind enough to take a peek at it for me, and he has convinced me that, inside the pile of words I gave him, there might be something lurking that could actually be turned into a story. If you're game, I wouldn't mind getting another take on what works and what doesn't in the first three scenes. Let me know, either as a reply here or in a PM, and I'll send you a link to your very own commentable gDoc.
