    Ten Years of Doctor Perseus

Today marks the tenth anniversary of me creating my account here on FIMFiction. It feels incredibly surreal to type that out. Sometimes it almost feels like yesterday when I was a bright-eyed Brony entering the world of MLP fanfiction for the first time. And sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago.

10 Years After My First Fanfic/My Thoughts on Recent MLP & Doctor Who Content

Hello, everybody! It has certainly been a minute since my last blog post. Like I have said in the past, I am not on here as often as I used to be but I certainly try my best to check on my account whenever I can. In all honesty, I was planning on waiting to write out a blog like this until the tenth anniversary of my FIMFiction account. While I still plan on doing that, I was inspired to write

The 10th Anniversary of Friendship is Magic's Premiere

I know I'm not as active here as I used to be but I felt that I had to at least make a little comment here about Friendship is Magic officially beginning its journey into ten-year status. I can't believe it's been ten years since Friendship is Magic started. Heck, I can't believe it's already been a year since the series ended. Does make me wish that we could have gotten a tenth season in order

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Seasons 3&4

Told ya the wait wouldn't be long. Anyway, here I am to FINALLY close the book on Doctor Whooves once and for all by laying out the rest of what I had planned out for Doctor Whooves. Unlike with Season 2, I'm just going to keep my plans for Seasons 3 and 4 in one blog as I hadn't planned everything out in as much detail as I did the arcs of Season 2. But, still, there is plenty of content to

What Could Have Been: Doctor Whooves Season 2, Arc 3

Yeah...sorry for the long wait on this one. I really have no excuse for taking this long to get around to finally uploading the rest of my plans for what I originally had in store for my Doctor Whooves fanfic series. But I'm here now, for those of you who are still interested in learning about the future I originally had planned for a series I ended well over two years ago. Better being SUPER

Idea Burst: The Chronicles of Equestria · 5:33am Feb 2nd, 2016

It's been a while since I last did one of these. Anyway, here's a recent idea burst I had for a series that would combine the elements of MLP with that of The Chronicles of Narnia. But, for those of you who are not familiar with that series, fear not because this is more of a thematic crossover rather than a full-on crossover. Meaning that the style of the series follows that of Narnia but doesn't involve Narnia or any of its characters. I'll explain as I go along. So I hope you enjoy delving into this series I came up with and, as always, anyone has permission to either take inspiration from this idea or just go ahead an adapt this idea on their own. So let's begin!

The Stories:

There are eight stories in all and they are listed as follows:
1. The Conjurer, the Centaur and the Well
2. A Tale of Ice and Fire
3. The Draconequus and His Mares
4. Princess Twilight Sparkle
5. The Journey of the Friendship Express
6. The Crimson Cell
7. The Guardian of Light
8. The Last War

The Plots:

So here's where I'll delve into the main plots of each story, various scenes within, and what I've imagined for each story overall.

The Conjurer, the Centaur, and the Well:
This story starts with siblings Megan, Danny, and Molly Williams heading out to spend the summer on a farm with their aunt and uncle. While exploring the grounds, Megan finds a well and falls in. The well magically transports her to the world of Equestria. She quickly returns back home after falling through the portal (which is still a well on Equestria's side). She returns to her world finding that no time has passed on Earth's side. Eventually, she, Danny, and Molly fall through the well again (due to a series of events I haven't thought up) and find themselves in Equestria. This time, they stay longer and end up meeting Star-Swirl the Bearded (who, although he looks young, is 1100 years old). He is the Conjurer in the title. They go on to meet the current ruler of Equestria: Princess Sparkle. Equestria is currently under siege by Tirek. Megan, Danny, Molly, Star-Swirl, Sparkle, and Tirek's brother Scorpan work together, find the Rainbow Power (with the help of a mysterious spirit called Harmony, who appears in every story and makes sure that events in Equestria play out as they should), and use it to defeat Tirek. Megan also plants the sapling that will eventually grow into the Tree of Harmony. The story ends with the Williams siblings deciding to stay in Equestria with their new friends "for a little while longer".

A Tale of Ice and Fire:
The first three stories in this series form a trilogy and this, obviously, is the second part. It's been ten years since the previous story and Megan, Danny, and Molly are happily helping Sparkle look over Equestria. A new threat arises in the north when a war breaks out between two smaller nations: the Frozen States (ruled by King Crystal) and the Fire Domain (ruled by Queen Magma). Megan, Danny, Molly, Star-Swirl, Sparkle, and Scorpan (who returns to Equestria after several years of exploring the world) head up north to prevent the war from escalating. This story is essentially an origin story for the Crystal Empire. At the end: the war ends; King Crystal steps down and Queen Magma is killed; the Crystal Empire is founded with (insert name of pegasus from the Frozen States here), (insert name of earth pony from the Frozen States here), and (insert name of unicorn from the Fire Domain here) as its first rulers; and Sparkle enters a relationship with Firelight, a unicorn from the Fire Domain who she's grown close to throughout the course of the story. The story ends with a new friendship beginning between Equestria and the Crystal Empire.

The Draconequus and His Mares:
This story takes place 40 years after the previous one and introduces a young Discord, Celestia, and Luna as its leads. The trio were raised in an orphanage in a small town in another country but have recently left it to explore the world. Celestia and Luna are natural-born alicorns in this series and Discord is simply very close friends with them (though Celestia does have a bit of a crush on him). They eventually stumble into Equestria and end up meeting an elderly Megan, Danny, Molly, Sparkle, and Firelight. Sparkle and Firelight now have a son named Lilac (who Luna falls for). Star-Swirl and Scorpan both appear in this story as well. I haven't thought much about the ultimate enemy or main course of actions in this story but the story ultimately concludes with Discord's friendship with Celestia and Luna falling apart with him fully embracing chaos. He's banished from Equestria by the Williams siblings, thus setting up the origins for his eventual take-over of Equestria later on. At one point, Celestia and Luna also learn about their parentage and discover that their parents were two powerful, but secretive, alicorns from Equestria who were once Star-Swirl's pupils. Sparkle welcomes Celestia and Luna into Equestria and the two become Star-Swirl's newest pupils. However, a final trick from Discord causes the Williams siblings to fall back into the well that brought them to Equestria. They return to Earth the second they left and are young once again. The well then vanishes, preventing them from returning to Equestria. The story (and this little in-series trilogy) ends with Megan, Danny, and Molly swearing that they will return to Equestria once day.

Princess Twilight Sparkle:
This story picks up two years after the previous story. Megan, Danny, and Molly are moving on with life but haven't given up hope that they will return to Equestria. While at a restaurant with their parents, the siblings are pulled through a mirror and find themselves in the middle of Golden Oak Library. They are happy to be back in Equestria, but quickly learn that it is not the Equestria they left behind. Time works differently in Equestria versus Earth and while it was only two years for them it was well over a thousand years for Equestria. This story takes place during the time of the Season 3 finale and Season 4 premiere with the Williams siblings befriending the Mane 6 and ultimately helping Twilight face a new threat which leads to her becoming a Princess of Equestria. Of course, the siblings eventually reunite with Celestia, Luna, and Discord and learn all about what's happened in Equestria while they were gone. They learn about Discord's take-over of Equestria and his eventual defeat by Celestia and Luna, Luna's betrayal and banishment, Sparkle's and Firelight's deaths (old age), Lilac and Luna having two children (one of which is a direct ancestor of Twilight), Star-Swirl letting himself die of old age out of the grief brought on by Celestia and Luna falling apart, and everything else. The siblings are still suspicious of Discord but cautiously accept his "reformation" (this is pre-Twilight's Kingdom Discord so he's still a bit devious). The story ends with Twilight becoming a princess and the siblings returning to their world.

The Journey of the Friendship Express:
A year after the previous story, the Williams siblings are heading to a family reunion in New York City and are waiting in a subway station with their annoying cousin Lucas Wright. All four of them are suddenly pulled into Equestria by magical means. Two years have passed in Equestria (just after the Season 5 finale) and the Williams siblings reunite with Twilight and other characters they met in the previous story. Discord's also nicer to them now (due to this being post-Twilight's Kingdom) but he's still a trickster. They also meet Starlight Glimmer, who's living in Ponyville and is Twilight's pupil. Lucas is unhappy to be in Equestria and quickly becomes a thorn in everyone's side. The main story is a collection of adventures as the characters join together to explore Equestria and beyond on the Friendship Express. Lucas eventually becomes a nicer person after being temporarily transformed during one adventure and the Mane 6 encounter characters who will go on to become their spouses in later stories (Twilight and Discord gradually grow closer throughout the story and kiss at the end, signalling the beginning of their relationship). This story spans several months in Equestria time and Cadance even gives birth to Flurry Heart during the trip. Eventually, the characters return to Ponyville after having explored so much of the world. Harmony appears and informs the kids that it's time to return to Earth but also reveals that Megan and Danny will never return to Equestria. After a tearful farewell, the Williams siblings and Lucas are returned to the New York City subway station by Harmony. The story ends with the kids boarding the subway to head to the family reunion and Lucas realizing that he left his iPod in Equestria.

The Crimson Cell:
Two years have passed since the previous story and the Williams siblings are attending a debate competition being held between Lucas's school and another. Lucas is nervous and Molly talks with him one-on-one in an empty art classroom to help calm him down for the debate. They are then approached by Lucas's rival and competitor, Jennifer Clark, and her younger brother, Franklin. Lucas and Jennifer begin to argue when, suddenly, one of the paintings (one of a hydra) comes to life. The hydra reaches through the painting and pulls Jennifer in with Molly, Lucas, and Franklin following close behind. They land in Froggy Bottom Bog and are saved from the hydra by a female draconequus named Iris Blaze. They are brought to Canterlot by Iris where they learn that 20 years have passed in Equestria. All of the Mane 6 and other characters they knew have gotten married and have children of their own. Iris is the eldest child of Twilight and Discord. However, for a year, Twilight and Discord's second child, Crimson Dusk, has been missing. The story is essentially about Molly, Lucas, Jennifer, Franklin, Iris, and several of the other Next Generation characters teaming up and going out to find Crimson against the orders of their now over-protective parents. I haven't thought up a villain yet but they are a powerful threat and want to end Equestria. Their plans are stopped by the characters, Crimson is rescued, Jennifer and Franklin become better people throughout the course of the story, and everyone returns home. Molly, Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin spend the next six months living in Equestria with their new/old friends. At Hearth's Warming, Harmony appears and tells the kids that it's time to return home, as well as informs Molly that she will never return. The kids are returned to the art classroom and the story ends with Lucas and Jennifer beginning the debate as close friends.

The Guardian of Light:
One year after the last story, Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin continue to be close friends and are hanging out at the beach. They decide to explore a mysterious cave. As a result, they walk through a chink between the worlds and return to Equestria. 45 years have passed in Equestria and many of their friends have grown old. I haven't thought much about the main plot of this one. The story ends with Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin returning to the beach with Harmony's promise that they would all return to Equestria again.

The Last War:
It's been three years since Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin last traveled to Equestria. By this point, Megan has finished college and has moved in with her new fiance in the country. She's having a housewarming party and Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin are invited. As they drive to the house, the car they're in is suddenly transported to an open field in Equestria. They make their way to Ponyville and learn that a hundred years have passed since they were last in Equestria. Most of their friends have since passed away, including Celestia and Luna (who decided that they had lived long enough a decade previously) and Cadance (who let herself die when Shining Armor passed away). Twilight, Discord, their children, Spike, Spike's children, and Shining Armor and Cadance's children are still alive. The main story involves Equestria being invaded by an army of monsters being led by a massive army of Changelings. Eventually the war is won and Equestria is safe at last. Twilight and Discord allow themselves to pass away together in the presence of their friends and family. Harmony appears to let Lucas, Jennifer, and Franklin know that it's time to return to Earth and that they will never return to Equestria. After a few final goodbyes, the trio returns to their car and they drive across the Canterlot Bridge back to Earth. They arrive at Megan's housewarming party and Lucas, Jennifer, Franklin, Megan, Danny, and Molly sit together and reminisce about Equestria. Twenty years later, Lucas and Jennifer are married, living in the country, and have three children of their own. The story ends with their eldest child finding a mysterious well behind their house that wasn't there before...

I'm already liking this idea I've not read the plots of your ideas as I want to stay spoiler free, like I am with season 6, but you're a brilliant writer so I have high hopes for this

The one problem I have with this (and the most off-putting detail of the Prince Caspian movie) was how some character seems to simply be randomly expositing that some other characters "will never return here". From an in-universe perspective, where did this type of decision originate? Who gets to decide this? What authority do they have to decide? Do they ever give a reason to those characters? What if one of those characters said, "Heck with that, I'm coming back anyway." What would happen then? I'm fine with characters deciding that they don't feel like returning, but not just being told that they "won't" as if being told to "get out and stay out". This isn't a criticism of you, just the general idea of that happening. Note: I've never read the Narnia books, so if it's explained better there than it was with one line in the movie, I wouldn't know.

In the books, it's actually a worse description with the kids being told that they're "too old". I personally prefer the reason given in the movie: "your brother and sister have learned what they can from this world, now it is time for them to live in their own". Each trip to Narnia was not only for the benefit of Narnia but to the characters traveling to the world as well. The specific characters were brought to Narnia for reasons set out to not only help the world but to also improve themselves. The same would apply in this series. Everyone had a role to play in being brought to Equestria, whether they were aware of it or not. And, eventually, all things must end and people must take what they've learned and move on.

3728622
Feel free to read the plots because I'm not planning on writing this. This is just an idea I came up with and decided to share to entertain others with the idea and possibly inspire someone else to carry out the idea if they feel inspired enough to do so.
