Dear Princess Luna, for months now, I’ve been working to expand and detail this profile, and I finally feel I am able to provide a detailed report of Ponyville’s wealthiest and most private business stallion. Many think him cruel or heartless, but over time, I’ve found him to simply be a driven, dedicated, but honest man, with a good head for numbers and a deep loyalty to his family and the Apple Clan.

Build: Professionally fit, but not muscular.***
Hair: Dark gray to black with lighter highlights.
Eyes: Light azure.
Cutie Mark: Three bags of money, neatly arranged and tied up. Located on his left arm near the shoulder.
Occupation: Businessman in a dozen fields. From cargo storage to shipping, and imports. As well as during the summer, he also runs or backs the ponies running nearly half the stalls at Ponyville’s bazaar.
Scars or accessories? None on record. He does keep gold rimmed glasses and wears them only when reading or writing contracts, but if they are for his vision there is nothing on record. He wears jewelry occasionally, but always keeps it simple, like a gold watch I’ve seen him keep on a chain in his vest pocket.
Close relationships: After hearing numerous stories from Granny Smith and Applejack, I can honestly say I have a feeling if AJ’s mother hadn’t married their father, Mr Rich might have married her instead. Their families are very closely linked and for ages they have worked very closely together, with Rich’s grandfather making his fortune from Granny Smith’s Zap Apple Jam. His daughter, the very mature and political Diamond Tiara, I wrote about in the past also revealed a little of her second face, providing to be quite vicious to other foals. I believe I need to keep a closer eye on her and the other foals. Sadly I have had no success in speaking to his wife Spoiled Rich at this time, so can't say much about her.
Personality: To the public he is ruthless with business and always hunting for an angle to work.**** That being said, he has always expanded the contract he has with the Apple clan, never trying to reduce the requirements grandfathered in from over a hundred years ago when it was first written, and while he isn’t humble, he does a lot of civic work about town, proving his good nature, even if he is a braggart.
Skills and Quirks:
Earth Pony Vitality – Based on stories from Granny Smith and Applejack, he used to work long shifts in the dirt to help out her parents during bad harvests and poor springs, like any other stallion. For years now, he has sent others in his sake but speaking with his maid, she suggested he still works fourteen to twenty-hour days regularly, rising before anyone in the household and working until late after sunset.
Ruthless but honorable Businessman – Some might call Rich cutthroat, but the truth is, I can find no record of him ever breaking a contract, or even trying to alter one once it had been established.*****
Dedicated Family stallion – It’s rare to see this, but for a stallion of his wealth and status, he has only one mare, and only one foal, his daughter Diamond Tiara. Even more impressive, I have learned he spends at least one hour every day with his foal in private lessons, on top of the tutor they have hired to continue to further her schooling.
* - His proper name is in truth, Filthy Rich, however he has rather subtly made it clear anypony rude enough to use his full name would be ‘blackballed’. (That he and his associates will not do business with that pony in the future.)
** - Because of the above, it becomes quickly obvious why Mr. Rich has no known nicknames
*** - According to Applejack and Granny Smith, in his youth, while proving to his sire he deserved to inherit the family business, he was in much better shape, often working long shifts in their warehouse like any other employee..
**** - I have seen this personally. I believe he was trying to convince me to take Guffaw’s seat as the Magistrate of Starswirl University only a few months ago. A much more impressive duty than my simple work here in Ponyville.
***** - This is proven by his loyalty to the Apple family. His grandfather wrote the original contract that included requirements to educate the Apple’s children like his own. He has gone far past that requirement, and while his father funded a small school house for just their combined families, Rich himself paid for Ponyville school, and continues to provide the majority of the funding to maintain standards of schooling matching the best of Canterlot’s elementary schools.
Shouldn't the Close Relationships also have included his actual family?
