Hiya! I tend not to do many of these, but I am trying to put more effort into writing and other things this year, so I am going to try to at least do a small blog once a month.
My Mauxie story has just officially gotten more likes then my Gryphon Empire story. One of these I have worked on for a year, the other, I did in a week...I'm not sure what to feel on this, but I'll survive.
I just had the urge to write it after a few conversations, and I didn't want to take time away from the Gryphon story, so I blew my normal week of downtime and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
Goal is to do four more one-shots for it over the year. If I do, then, along with my other plans, my story count will finally hit double digits.
I also started editing for Science Trick, we'll see how that ends up.
So, current line of plans for the year!
1. Gryphon chapter.
2. Edit Hopes and follies! I apologize for not replying to the last blog and suggestions, but I am going to take them all to heart when I do start cleaning it up.
3. Finish Gryphon Empire!
4. Mauxie story!
5. Hopes and Follies sequel begins! I'll probably do about three chapters, and then...
6. Mauxie story.
7. Gryphon empire sequel begins!
From there, it'll be a mix up on which one I do at which point, but I hope to have one chapter up every three weeks, with a new Mauxie one shot every 2-3 months until I have all 5 complete.
Lofty goals, but, I think I can manage them.
I offer a heartfelt 'thank you' at the hopeful schedule for the year.
I'm sorry Griphon Kingdom isn't getting all the attention it deserves, but I feel like your Mauxie story is just probably more accessible. Simple romances are generally pretty popular from what I've seen, but I'm also totally hooked on Gryphon Kingdom's elements of struggle and mystery. I'm loving Trixie showing what a raw dagger she can be while trying to learn how to sheath herself in probably the most bullheaded, legendary rank difficulty way she can. If she succeeds it will be in spite of herself and I dearly hope that she does. I know the world isn't always fair, but I'm praying Trixie is at least satisfied in the end with her first steps.
Also, I've been dying for the Hopes and Follies sequel since the original ended. It's another great example of Trixie realizing she doesn't have what she wants and sacrificing what she has to get it. Lots of silly risks... But more luck and ingenuity. And she begins cracking Twilight's heart in the end! I know you caught flack for Fluttercord in the end, but I thought it was tasteful and really pretty integral to the plot and motivation of Discord.
And you already have plans for a sequel for Gryphon Kingdom?? This is why you need more blogs. You drop all these exciting plans at once and I can't give them all the time they deserve for gushing.
Seriously, if you do any one of these things this year, I'll count it as a success. But don't rest on those laurels! I'm greedy and I want them all anyways!
Good luck this year!
I'll be honest, I'm one of the likes for the Mauxie but not for the Gryphon, although I really liked the last chapter of Gryphon and if it keeps in that vein I expect to give out a like very soon.
3681454 Oh, it's fine, ya like what you like. I edit for people who have stories I haven't liked. Some writer's have one story I find amazing, and a dozen I never read, or have no interest in.

Yeah, I meant it more in the context that Gryphon has really taken a while to get to deeper characterization for Trixie, whereas the Mauxie was able to establish everything it needed to right off the bat.
3680968 I always like your comments, I just do not always have anything to respond to them with.
I'm happy that my Mauxie is liked, it means I can put effort into some more one shots for them, been spending some time getting the rough drafts ready so I know what I am doing when I come back to them.
Funny enough, I think I mentioned this before, but the sequel to the Gryphon Empire was planned out since the start of this story. This was actually meant to be a short prequel to it, but then it kinda of snowballed.
And as for Hopes and Follies, I have wanted to start the sequel for a few months now, but I keep delaying it, unintentionally for the most part. Asides from the Mauxie series, I am not expecting the other two sequels to be complete by the end of this year, but, they have alot more behind them.
Glad to hear we're getting the sequel to Hopes and Follies soon. Also, more Mauxie stories are always good. Except when they're badly written, I suppose but I doubt yours will be.
Well, it's rather obvious to say but also a little sad at the same time, but Twilight fics are God on this site. I would guess Rainbow Dash is next most popular, but a solo Trixie adventure fic (at least to a casual reader that's what it would appear to be) not so much. There are probably a few epic Trixie fics that don't get much attention because there's no Twilight or Mane 6 tag. Obviously Mauxie isn't Twilight and co. but the familiar element of Equestria Girls and romcom and being a one-shot lure people in too.
Just look at it in reverse, though: there are authors on this site with 1000+ followers who can post something about a less-popular character and struggle to break double digits comments.
(besides, your Mauxie fic has just about double the Likes that my Mauxie fic does, and I thought that mine was deliciously insane enough to take off on its own. I'm probably going to have to
choke a marewrite something really flat-out tripping balls to have a successful Comedy fic, like Sombra holding a musical about Stairs)I certainly look forward to the Hopes and Follies sequel, though.
