So, I've noticed something about my story, "My Queen"...
Over the course of 24 hours, it's gotten a considerable amount of views and likes, at least relative to what it normally gets. In fact, it's gotten more views in that time frame than it had on the day of its posting, or the day after that. Admittedly, 28 views and 7 likes in one day is hardly a lot, but it's way more than the 0-5 views it usually gets and is enough to make me suspect it's not just random chance.
Seeing as it's not even featured in any groups, I figured that it was a fairly obscure story. Anyone know why it's been so much more popular lately? Did somebody give my story a plug or something? Did it spend some time in the popular stories bar after a few random people happened to find it and give it a thumbs up? I'm curious to find out.
I read and favorited right after finding altered visage, so that might have something to do with it
I found My Queen in the "also liked" section of another story. I think it was Two Legs or Four, There's Always More, but if it was, it's not listed there anymore.

Well, this seems to be the most common response if the up votes are anything to go by. Not as exciting as getting a plug from somebody, but I'm not about to complain about it getting views.
I've also noticed somebody added it to a group since I posted this, specifically the "Changelings Need Love Too" group. I suppose that could draw a few views too now.

Yeah, I'd thought about that, and I was certain that I'd gotten at least a few views thanks to my other work over the last several weeks. I didn't think that was the likely cause of the sudden spike yesterday, though, as the time I get the most new views on Altered Visage is the day of uploading a new chapter, not the day before. The day before generally is the one that has the fewest views.
