(Still) looking for prereaders for The Rescue Service · 12:15am Dec 28th, 2015
I'm seeking more pairs of eyes to look at the upcoming chapter of The Rescue Service before I declare it to be good and publish it. I'm grateful for the help some of you have provided in making the previous chapters better than they would be otherwise, but some of the usual suspects have bowed out this time due to time constraints, so I hereby solicit willing guinea pigs.
Qualifications:
1. Must like the story so far.
2. Must accept that what you get to read may not necessarily become canon, depending on your and others' comments.
3. Must promise that if you read the draft, you will also tell me about at least one thing in it that didn't work for you. (And more, if you can -- prereadings are helpful in proportion to the number of problems they point out).
You don't need to be an experienced editor/proofreader, as long as you can say something coherent about what worked and didn't work for you in the draft.
Rewards:
1. Get to read the next chapter (or something that might become it) before the world at large.
2. Appropriate credit for helpful comments, unless you prefer to stay anonymous.
If you're interested, drop me a PM and I'll send you a link to a secret gdoc.
Edit, January 5: The chapter is out now, and I am not in immediate need of prereaders. Still, if you want to sign up for the next chapter in advance, feel free to send a PM.
Edit, February 9: Everyone were suddenly busy by the time chapter 6 was ready, so that had to go out entirely unedited. More volunteers would still be dearly appreciated.
