Halp me Brainstorm - How Twilight can fuck up

Okay, so... I've been brainstorming on idea that involves Ponyville being teleported from one world to another basically the idea of it is, Twilight is asked by Celly to head a project of her creation, and what it does is... I'm not sure, I need it to be something original yet plausible.

Like, she gets it in her head how Celestia will be proud of her for completing this, you know how that is right? And somehow, the project goes wrong, and it ends up teleporting the entire town of Ponyville to another world... yes this is a story I'm... kinda on and off with everything else cause I can't just focus on one story I have to be all over the goddamn place!

Jeez!

Anywho... do you guys, anybody, pony, alien, train or car, have any ideas I could use? Like... what would be the project, what would the entire thing be that could transport an entire town across worlds?
